co readings are only really affected by whats happened on the day of the test as co leaves the body quite quickly. so you don't have to be out on site to get fumes you can get them from cars in the street, I bet if you went back in the morning it would be much lower.when is your next test 1 or 2 weeks

  • Going back next tuesday, I am determined to 'prove' that I am not smoking (even though I know and my husband knows I am not)

We bought a C02 Alarm that beeps if there are high levels of C02, it was £15  but my poor hubby just wanted to do ANYTHING to shut me up and keep me from running for the nearest packet of fags!!

It's up and running and we will move it around the house with us for a few days until we either know something or get bored :o

I've got one of those small cardboard ones for the car (although I may yet take the portable alarm with me!) so we will see what happens.

    Thanks everyone for your support.

Hi all been on Zyban since Good Friday, apart from the occasional palpitations, its been very good at suppressing the need for nicotine.
I can now do about 5 or 6 hours without a smoke.
My GP said I should pick a stop day within the first 2 weeks.
I did, today at 1 am I smoked what I hoped would be my last fag.
    I managed 20 hours.
I work nights, don't get up till lunch time, no pangs for the first fag of the day. From say, 1pm to 6pm the craving was managable. After this it was very strong.
Now, I've been reading this thread for a couple of days, and I just wonderered if I had started too early?
Any one else been on Zyban? When did you set your stop day in relation to starting the programme?

    Hi mjl,

I do so hope you're able to stick to that time and that by the time you read this you'll have completed your first day! If not then try to make it as soon as is possible. I have no idea about Zyban, but hopefully someone else will. I've sent you a PM and hopefully you'll find some help from there. Be prepared for days 2, 3 and 4 to be a little rockier, though we're all different and some would disagree, but you soon get over it from there on.

All the very best with your non-smoking life, Sue.

Hi MFD, I really do hope you're feeling a little better about you today and not thinking about that infernal machine too much! Blasted thing, how dare it! No doubt there was something wrong with it and that next time you'll be fine. You wrote some great posts on here yesterday and you can certainly tell you're a non-smoker! You should be so very proud of yourself, just as your hubby is.

All the best with keeping strong! Sue.

All the very best to EVERYONE too, you're all doing marvellously and we're all so thrilled at your achievements, you are doing wonderfully well.

    Love and more hugs, Sue
