  • Hi all - nice to see the site growing bigger by the day and busy - the more the merrier. Out motto should be "we got the power""

Hi Sea - fancy seeing you here, I didn't know you were a smoker - have to admit (with a very red face) I smoked through all 4 of my pregnancies, how shameful is that!!!

Jo what about the lozenges or gum, my friend swore by them and she's been stopped 12 months now?? You can do it hon just breathe out the craving - hope that doesn't sound patronising its supposed to sound supportive!!

Jackie your dad is a star, my grandad gave up at 82 and we were stunned but he did it!!

To those I haven't mentioned its not deliberate just ran out of time! Keep up the good work all!

    Take care, love n hugs

IDA - I kept it quiet lol!! :)

Fortunately, smoking makes me feel quite ill when pregnant - and I don't smoke like I used to - when I found out I was pg with DD I was smoking 30 a day (yes, she was a happy surprise too, felt so ill that it was easy giving up) and I was a social smoker after I had her - then pg with DS and as wasn't drinking didn't smoke, but then with this one I have been smoking more and more regularly so it's hard! But not had one for over 36 hours and intend to keep it that way! Hopefully.

  • I love Airedales: love the area. Was over in Princetown a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait to go back again to a) enjoy life as a non-smoker and have much more energy to walk and b) get munched by lots and lots of ticks!

Sea78: Congrats. Like you said, no excuse to smoke any more ;-D make sure you're not like my ex-wife who started again the day after she gave birth. TBF to her, she did quit when pregnant with our second!

Keep going guys :D:D :beer:We're all doing well, if you fall off the wagon, just jump back on again. Don't forget, physically, to get rid of Mr O'Teen out of our bodies takes around 3 weeks!!!

Thanks for all the suggestions, the one I've picked is CAKE :rotfl:

Sea, Congratulations! How many weeks are you? Oh, I'm so broody at the moment but I couldn't fit another person into my house and we can't move just yet :(

Maybe that's what I need, I was 'lucky' enough to have horrendous morning sickness through all of my pregnancies and couldn't face fags or alcohol (or tea and coffee for that matter), but would having a baby purely to give up smoking be a bit selfish :D
