  • Just reading about the pharmacy thing and I get mine free because I live in Wales, so just wanted to remind anyone that lives in Wales that we don't pay for our prescriptions so get yourself to the doctor and get some patches on your arms!!!! I am so determined this time to succeed. I have cried 3 times today - my boss thinks i am crazy, but she can see how much i want to succeed this time. I gave up before for 3 months and found myself pitying people who smoked and remember how good it made me feel, but I went through a rough patch with my relationship, work etc and gave in - i am determined never to make that mistake again. When i have kids I want to be able to chase after them and play - it would really upset me if I couldn't do that because it felt like my chest was about cave in. Good luck everyone - your messages are really encouraging me and its so nice to know i am not alone.

Don't worry bev - it is purely temporary and will pass. Remind yourself why you're doing this by looking at the whyquit website and even read through some of this thread.

Drink water, if you feel you need to eat, eat fruit and take deep breaths. You are now in week 2 of not smoking so you are nicotine free!! Well done and stay strong :)

Hope everyone else is ok today.

Boatie_bird - how was your training yesterday?

Basilcat - no hiding! show yourself and post, Missy.

Hi to newbies and oldies alike

I know what you mean - find the hardest part is when i get into my car in the mornings and on my way home from work – I would always light up then and also after I have eaten. Its been 24 hours now (not long I know), but I am still feeling determined. On the bright side I have saved nearly £10.00 by not buying fags and that’s only in 2 days!! This forum is a godsend to me – its spurring me on…

  • Morning all.

Welsh-cake: Stick at it, remember that the first 72 hours are the worst for the nicotine withdrawl. It really does get easier after that point. promise!

Lurkio: Well, I went out last night and I did the 5 mins brisk walk followed by the alternate jogging/walking for 20 minutes and I can still walk this morning so I guess it went OK! Going to do the same thing tommorow lunchtime.

basilcat: Missing you, where are you?!!

Bev79: Is the sun shining where you are this morning? Get outside and have a brisk walk, even if it's just 10 minutes I bet it makes you feel better.
  • I ate so much last night that i went to bed feeling sick - i really don't want to put on any weight and am worried about it. Does anyone have any tips??

The only thing I can suggest is to not worry about putting on weight at the moment. Tackle one thing at a time

And as I said in my last post - if you need to eat, eat fruit :)

I hurt a bit and I'm out again this lunchtime :o. The good part is that for the whole 20 minutes, I never got out of breath :D If you'd asked me to do that two years ago, first I would have laughed at you, but then had I attempted it, I would be gasping for breath after the first 90 second jog
