You don't need to depart. You provide so much help and support here.
Just be careful when you go further from DFW, and watch what you step in.You have given me an idea.......

Morning everyone..... well done to all..
Seem to be missing MJay and Melbury- where are you both ??
Well done JoeHel for going to the gym... makes you feel so much better too.. I still am eating more (can't stop snacking in the evenings) but have made a conscious decision to cut back as from today. Makes me feel rubbish as I still have to lose that half a stone.
Still, did 2 classes at the gym last night too, admittedly a bit half hearted !
Have a great day everyone:D
Hello Bas and everyone else - haven't been on here for a couple of days, so have just been catching up on everyones news. Great to hear that you are all doing so well and what is all this thing with TNG about? Of course TNG can't leave, we need all that good advice and support - so PLEASE STAY:D
I have now gone 4 weeks and 1 day without - I find it really hard to believe, never thought I would actually do it. As mentioned before, I do still miss them with a drink, but I am trying to get into the mindset outlined by good old TNG - to stop thinking I am missing out on something, when in fact it is very dangerous. Was thinking about it last night and can honestly say that I have smoked ever since I have drunk alcohol - so no wonder it all tastes strange to me.
I really notice people now standing outside shops etc lighting up - I think you poor sad b******s - it does look a bit pathetic doesn't it? and that used to me - probably all of us.
Anyway glad you are all still here and doing well - keep posting:TStopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
 So here I am ready to join you all again and looking forward to some inspiration from TNG and the mystery missus and he's gone and bu**ered off!! TNG, come back, I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed you!
Hi to JoeHel and all the others who were so helpful last time - and to all the new people who I am joining again.:hello: Just had my last ever fag (gave up and after a month my house burned down, started smoking again and guess what? It didn't make my things come back, just made me unfit and wheezy again)
So it's nearly 2am and I'm off to bed, hoping to get a good 8 hours of not smoking under my belt....God this is scary.
Don't know why I am posting as you're probably all enjoying non-smokers lovely unbroken sleep....just wanted to say hi I guess and make a commitment this time to see it through

Hi again everyone.
TNG please stay i love reading you advice.
Just thought i pop in and tell you im still a non-smoker and its now been 1 week, 1 day and 13 hours!!!
Im so grateful for you support, i really think stopping smoker is `easier` if your in the right mind set, iv realised on all my other failed attemps to stop smoking, it was beacause i wasnt ready myself to do it, i did it because others wanted me to stop or because i thought i was ready.
This time i planned and prepared for it without telling anyone at first, i joined the NHS group and only then did i tell my family.
I have only had 1 bad day, to the point of putting on my shoes to go and buy some death sticks, but physicaly walked up and down the kitchen talking and shouting at myself, and managed to get myself through it ( if anyone had seen me!!!! they would have thought id lost the plot!!)
Im feeling so much better, i can smell things again, can now smell people that smoke when they stand next to me, this was a big moment when this first happened thinking oh god i used to smell like that! As pointed out by someone else, when i see people lighting up it now makes me gringe. And in a conversation i was having the other day with someone i said without thinking about it...`i know i used to smoke`
It wasnt until they pointed out what i had just said that i realised my brain is acctually got this I DONT SMOKE AND AM A NON SMOKER!!!!
Good luck to everyone else, keep going

Afternoon all,
So what have I missed? TNG I thought you were no. 1 member of the DNETT club and so you don't take offence from other posters. Don't allow someone else to push you out, the people on this thread (incl myself) need you here for support. OK

Morning all
Donna, well done, I can't wait til I come back in a week and say the same thing! How is the nhs group going for you? When I quit last year I wasn't allowed to join as I was trying to go cold turkey and apparently you have to have tried patches etc first. So basically unless I've spent money I haven't got on something that's not right for me (the nicotine in those things is far higher than the amount of cigs I ever smoked!)
However I'm thinking of telling a fib when I go back to the doctor so that they let me join :shhh: Is that really bad?!I just reckon the fact you have to get your carbon thingy level measured might do the trick. What do other people think of the classes? Any help gratefully received! I managed a month last time on total willpower alone but I now recognise I might need help particularly when bad things happen

Well I've been 'out of the loop' so to speak for a bit, but I come back to see TNG disappearing!!! TNG you can't disappear, this thread will be totally imbalanced with so many women and you walking off. We all need you TNG You're like a virtual friendly face-baring in mind I have no idea what you look like iyswim. You're not a George Clooney loookalike by any chance are you????? Seriously though TNG we need you, please come back. remember the film shane? at the end shane is leaving and the littl'un says cxome back shane, don't go shane, we need you shane etc etc you get the drift?? well you're shane and I'm the littlun, only there's a change to the ending and instead of you leaving you come back coz we all need you.
I always used to cry at that film-sh*t just showing my age again.
Come back TNG we need you here.GE 36 *MFD may 2043
