I'm not sure whther its OK to keep posting every day here (sometimes twice a day)!
I'm just so chuffed with myself - the only thing today was that I had a bit of an cigarette urge and without thinking swerved into a donut shop and scoffed 2 donuts!
I'm going to try to be a bit more conscious about this - I'll be 20 stone if I carry on!

One more benefit to report - I can talk and walk without gasping for breath today - a good thing for me as I don't shut up for long usually!

4 days now....
• Hi Rachelmk :hello: - well done on the 4 days !!! Now it will really feel like you CAN do it !!

I'm on Day 16 (!!!!) and every day I feel fitter and cleaner with all that !!!! out of my system.
Posting on here is a massive help- if you go back over the last few days I was on here ALL the time as that was what helped for me... especially over the weekend.
It's whatever works for you..
One thing- you sound SO positive- that positivity will be what keeps you going and going and going.....

MJay- A massive WELL DONE on passing the 2 week milestone- we can do it !!
have a good day all and well done to everyone !!

• Hey Rachel, don't hold back - why limit yourself to 2 posts a day!
I'm sure I've been in double figures some days.

Well done for not using the gum, there's no need for it now you've got through the difficult bit.
I've brought my (unopened) lozenges into work today to see if anyone wants them.

My stats today are:

Free and Healing for Seven Days, 2 Hours and 48 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 5 Hours, by avoiding the use of 71 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me £20.64.

I've done a whole week and I'm feeling so pleased with myself!

My favourite restaurant has a January special offer - 2 course for £12.50 so I'm just waiting for the money I've saved to get up to £25 and me and DH will go.

How is everyone else doing this morning?

Mornin' all!

Rachael, 'fill your boots' with posts to the thread.... I agree with Boatie and I probably filled a few pages all by myself some days.... What's a few donuts between friends? It would take a lot of THEM to kill you!!

Thanks for the 'WELL DONE's , Bas...YESSS!!! two whole weeks!!

I had the odd moment of angst yesterday and still can't figure what triggered it.... Anyway, lots to do today so that will help..

How are you other newbies doing? Hope all it well and you are fighting the good fight!!!!!

Hi all- love that quote MJay... it's nice to reward ourselves and have a treat... tastes much nicer nowadays too !! I also agree on picking out the smokers in shops- they don't look as happy either - maybe its the smell !!
:rotfl:
Boatie- WELL DONE for 7 days- it gets easier from here !!

Hi Suki, and well done for joining.

Thought for the day- I used to look at my net salary and subconsciously 'take off' £100 per month for cigarettes- so nice now I don't have to do that anymore.

Me again..well some bad news i caved in... in moment of weakness.

but i have an appointment a the smoking clinic tomorrow... i want to try champix, but i don't think our health authority has approved its use...

i may be down but certainly not out.
• Hello all you quitters. I gave up smoking 25/7/07 with the great help of this thread. Many thanks to Jo for starting the thread and IDA too.
I chose Champix to help me give up and it was for me an easy way to give up. You are eased off smoking and on the 8th day you stop. At this stage you have to make a bit of effort.
I started doing lots of excercise in the fresh air and I really felt great. There are so many benefits that you have yet to experiance. The fresh breath, pink tongue, people not backing away from your smelly breath, clean hair, bright eyes, lovely clear skin, breathing easier, no hacking cough and loads more to look forward to.
Take care all, keep on quitting it is worth a bit of hassel to feel as good as you will in a short time.
Hi Jo & IDA
Best wishes ILA

Hi Ila :hello: glad to hear things are all good with you! Great to check in now and again! Don't know where the founder of our forum Jo is  or YM  . Check in guys let us know how you're doing!! Hiya TNG and Joeh!
Meanwhile so many new quitters I haven't been able to keep up with you all - but you're all doing great and should be very proud!! :T It can be tough, it can be easy but whatever it is its the right thing to do!! I've been quit six months 3 weeks and am over £800 richer!!
Take care all. Happy smokefree days.
love and hugs

Hey skint. Rule no. 1 - Do not admit that you have been defeated!!!!!! You have had a minor blip, that's all, which is going to make you stronger for the next effort.

Don't be down. Turn it in to determination. Get back on the wagon :D We're used to people falling off, but luckily there's enough of us to pull you back on ;)

Big Hi to everyone else

nice to see ILA checking in, too :hello:
:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood

Hi Skintnow
Fret not..... That was then and this is now....

You have the notion to to free of the damned things and will do it!

The more you beat yourself up, the greater the fear you build up for the next time.

As Boatie said just "never give up giving up"!!!!!!

Pssst some of us may have had more practice at giving up in the past than you have... xx
