Looking at your signature tells me it was around July/August when my previous attempt failed.
I'm dead impressed that you haven't smoked, it's nice to know that it can be done.
I'm feeling OK at the moment - I'm in that 'high on oxygen' phase I think!
It CAN be done. I was sceptical (what smoker isn't), but this is the longest I've been without a cigarette for longer than I can remember (I wasn't long out of shorts    ) and I smile to myself everyday that I am no longer enslaved.
Keep going Boatie, we're all here for you. Read as much as you can about smoking in particular and addiction in general

EDIT : I can stop typing now, JoeHel's here:rotfl: How ya doing?

HEH :rotfl: I love this effect I have on you TNG..
Actually I am going to be loving and leaving you all for a while because I've been urged to resume my old hobby of comping, so I'm going to be spending most of my time doing online competitions for a while. I'm sure you'll all be fine without "mum" here having a go at you all the time  I will keep an eye on how you are all doing though...
Good luck everybody - you CAN DO IT!! :jQUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0 -
In my own personal experience giving up smoking has failed whenever the reasons for stopping were for someone else, Her Majs Gov said it was bad for me or it was getting expensive and any other reason you can think of that can be construed as external pressure.
It may sound trite and very simplistic but it was only when I decided in my own mind that I truly wanted to stop smoking that I succeeded. Everybody is different though and in the end this was what worked for me. I had realised that all my previous attempts to stop were never because I wanted to stop. It was always 'I must stop smoking' for whatever external reasons that were applicable at the time.
Good luck to anybody kicking the habit.0 -

hi ... good on everyone for giving it the best they can... i quit smoking in july and have never looked back ... for the first few weeks i crave for them like they were calling out to me as i past the shops but as weeks turned in to months it became easier... now that doesnt mean to say i dont still crave them every now and again.. (esp when everyone in my damn work smokes) but i had a real hard hit of what cigs can do to you as i watched my nan (who was like a mum to be) die as a result of 40 years of smoking.. she did quit long before she died but it was to late the damage was done... of course i felt down and wanted a fag to curse the stress but that night and sat there and thought... now do i want my grandchildren (if i ever let my daughter out lol) to watch me go through that? ... and thats the image i stick to when i feel weak i know its not a happy story but smoking aint... i think when you find that something that makes you think right im never doing it again thats when you know it'll work... i hope your all coping... and think every fag you dont smoke is a nother day with your family hope my words have helped if only alittle lol xx
Still searching .....:)

Afternoon all,
Apologies for not being around much over the past 2 days, been quite busy. Although got to work this morning and there was no electric or gas so got sent home and spent the whole day putting up curtains, don'tcha just love that job!
Welcome to the newcomers (and the returning newcomers), how we all doing? Congrats to everyone that's notched up another day.
Well done Oops, you are doing great
I'll pop back a bit later, gotta run to Tescos, been so busy with the curtains that I forgot I've got nothing for dinner
Tesco's at this time of day is lethal for me cos I'm starving, I just know I'm gonna come home with a multipack of Cadbury's Flakes and a whole host of choklit!
