Aww you guys are great :D missed you all so much today. I had a ball! Work was great, finished at 4pm when I thought it was till 5, got home 3 hours earlier than usual! Plus it only took me 20 minutes to drive there! Had a great day, but the down side is that I can't sit on here all day, although I'm sure I'll sort summat out soon :D:D

Bigears, as TNG said :T :A read the first thread, loads of ideas on there about different ways to stop, loads of support threads. Which ever way you decide we will all be here (albeit, me not as much over the next week or so as I started a new job today :(), but let us know how you're feeling. Good luck.

Steve, well done hunny!! How you doing, remember to keep coming on here and recording your thoughts, might help you over a craving or two :) Good luck to you too.

Costa, did you hear about the job yet?

Everyone else, thanks so much for the good luck wishes, missing you all and it's only been about 24 hours :rotfl:

Speak to you all tomorrow :D

24hrs and I haven't killed or even wounded anyone yet

Gotta say these tabs are quite good in comparison to other methods I've tried;)

Still get wee paings and cold sweats when I see someone else smoking but hope to wise up soon :D:D:D:D

    Well done Steve :T :T :T :T

One thing I did on one attempt (on advice from a book), was to put some water in a jar and put a few cigarettes in. When I got a craving, I just opened the lid and took a whiff _pale_ _pale_ _pale_

    Aversion therapy, I believe

Hi everyone! Never thought I'd see the day when I could post in this thread but I haven't had a ciggie since 11pm on Sunday night and I'm soooo chuffed with myself!! Have used the Allen Carr book and so far so good. Feeling VERY positive and managing perfectly well without any nicotine replacement products. Early days yet, but got everything crossed! Good luck to everyone else trying to quit. I know how hard it is...

TNG that's a genius idea - I always hated that smell, so it will be such a boost.
Welcome Joel, I'm new too, 4 days in and trying cold turkey as well - I'm going to pick up Allen Carr tonight from the library for a bit moral support though.
Stevey, maybe it'd be best to avoid places where people are smoking for a while, I've stopped going out for lunch cause most people stop in a doorway next to my work for their fags and I know it'll make me weak... Mind you. you're right and we should probably just wise up and be glad we're no longer slaves to the weed....
Anyway I'm quite pleased at making it to my 4th day so good luck everyone and fingers crossed!

PS A consultant from my work just told me that the average successful quitter has taken EIGHTEEN goes to kick the habit for good - really makes you think eh! And definitely reminds us we shouldn't give up giving up!
