I was good, just bought 6 pints of milk in Tesco and that's it
Got a duck in the oven which I'm roasting for tonights tea (reduced from £8.50 to £2.51 in Tesco:D:D).
Don't know how much I'll be on this week, got my eldest DD doing work experience at my place for the next 2 weeks and don't want her to think I sit and do nothing all day  although she'll be in the drawing office so hopefully will be too busy to come out to reception to see me, well until she wants money for lunch I supposeDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
I'm going to HSBC for mine. (June though)
Thought you only bought milk, so how did you get duck :rotfl:
Managed a smoke free weekend after Friday0 -
Well here goes. I'm in need of some advice. I only started smoking occasionally in July (just when the public smoking ban came into affect!), but gradually its increased and now I need to find an alternative. I started smoking to help me relax as I am quite a highly strung person who's been going through the mill. I am now addicted and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of something else I could do to help me detatch myself from my emotions. I'm very weak and can cry easily and this I hate, smoking helps - does anyone else have any good alternatives? I'd prefer to smoke than have the tension and tears, but obviously I would prefer not to smoke if you understand. What can I do? Please be kind! I'm already having counselling for my problems, which is good. I know tears are good and can be a release, but if you had cried the amount that I have cried in my life time then I think you would be fed up of them too. Once again please be kind!Don't judge a man until you have walked his life.0

Try writing down your feelings and locking them away, physically, and do it mentally aswell.0

hi be focused :hello: and welcome,
Have you tried any books (Allen Carr, Neil Casey)? They help with the psychological side of smoking and could help you
What you need to realise is that smoking only calms down the anxiety that was caused by the previous cigarette. That is the addiction.
Also, if you haven't already (and jo1972 hasn't told you to), read this thread from the start. Amongst the chat is some real good advice
Hope this helps:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -

sorry, might just be me, but i dont believe locking away your real feelings is all that healthy,
writing it all down can be very cathartic (and something i have done at times in my life) but to ignore how your really feeling and pretending there are no problems surely wont do anything but eventually make things worse?especially as Be focused has already said they are in councelling for the real problems (meaning its already got to the point where things need to be talked about)
I can only recommend the Paul Mckenna cd (helped me immensly) and in times of stress for you to think 'this too shall pass'
good luck0 -
Morning be focused and welcome to the thread
As TNG said, Allen Carr (which I've read) and Neal Casey (which I haven't although has big kudos from others on this thread) books are the way to go I think in terms of thought process. It breaks it all down and helps you to understand how your mind is working, it's all actually common sense but subconcious stuff you don't think about.
Have a look at the first post in this thread, there are loads of links to various sites that will give you advice and support. Also we've compiled a list of things that we have found better/inspirational after quitting smoking.
Good luck hun, be sure to keep us updated, you'll get loads of support here
