Failed my driving test .... Again

If you're at the stage when you're taking tests I think it's less about the instructor and more about building confidence and becoming comfortable with what you're doing - you know how to drive, you just need to polish it. Best of luck0

I'd rather a surgeon who had taken out a thousand appendices then his first ever one0 -
I passed 7th time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yikes!
believe it or not i wasnt that terrible! i could drive but i was rubbish at menouvers! and i got terribly nervous to the point i couldnt speak on the test! haha!
after the 5th i changed driving instructor. The woman i had at 1st would get very irate with me when doing reverse round a corner etc but her way of explaining how to do it just didnt sink in with me.
I had a man instuctor then, he was very laid back and how he explained the menouvers just sank in. I still failed my 6th tho!!
by the 7th i really didnt care, wasnt nervous... id just had enough....and i passed!
Good luck keep going! i passed 8years ago, no accidents and im a really confident driver!

Valium...The key to passing your test...I know quite a few who have failed then took one tab and sailed it..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Ive been through four driving instructors - first tried when I was 17 and hated it ! tried again a couple of times over the years. Then found a fab instructor and passed at the start of Jan 1st time with 12 minors and havent had the confidence to take the car out on my own yet. Think it might be because it is my husbands pride and joy0

Do try again! I know it's hard, and it's nerve-wracking (at least, it was for me), but it's SO worth it in the end!0

I've got a number of friends who would totally agree with that!
As a few have mentioned here, people often pass when they have got to the point where they just don't care anymore as they've failed so many times. That's when you're not nervous, and that's when you pass.
Can be the same for job interviews for some people, too!
In fact, people who are born confident and never get nervous are blessed.
It's a shame I can't get hold of valium very easily, lol. It'd make me a 'normal' person without nerves holding me back in life lol
Unfortunately for me personally, I really don't think I've got the strength to go through all of the lessons/tests/etc again after giving up a few years ago.0 -
I passed fourth time. For me, it was a combo of changing instructors and getting a scooter CBT. It took me extra time to pass my CBT too!
For me, the cbt was a really good way of getting to grips with the roads and timing things like gaps in roundabouts, without having to think about gears and foot placement as well. I loved that bike, and would never have gotten a car execpt it was stolen at christmas.Emergency savings: 4600

that's a very good point.
Part of my thinking about going for my CBT is to improve my 'road sense'
My instructor always told me that I had just about the best 'control' of the car that he had seen in any of his students for quite a while. (probably because I used to drive my dads jeep around a friends farm as a little kid!)
However, my poor road sense, and general confusion with roundabouts that have like 4 lanes and various other issues, combined with my 'shipwreck', anxiety riddled mind, meant that I simply crumbled like a pastry when it came to test day!
My plan for now is to hopefully get my CBT certificate, get a bike, ride around for a year, and then book a driving test again, this time hopped up on valium!!0
