  • Delurking to send a bundle of good wishes for your dad, Pigpen.

Apart from it being unfair to expect you to go away with kidney problems, are you not needed to be on hand for your own family while your dad is in hospital?
  • Sending best wishes to you pigpen and for your dad too; such a worrying time for you all. Fingers crossed for speedy recovery and better news x

Oh gosh, I. Sorry piggers, about your dad. It's very stressful. DH also had a clot on his lung in the end due to his immobility, it caused him a lot of pain until they got his meds into a good pattern for him. It's not the standard painkillers for pleuritic pain, but they should be able to help.

We are going for feet measuring this morning, I'd usually avoid half term, but DS nursery trainers are falling apart. I've also promised them a cafe lunch if they behave nicely. I do love a bit of child coercion...

Slowcooker on with braising steak for supper, with cumin, chopped tomatoes and chopped onions. It may even end up as a mulligatawny type soup, yet. Don't suppose the kids will eat it.

My bedroom is clean and tidy so only a little catch up flying later. Have done kitchen dailies after brekkie, though, and put a wash in.

Catch up later, hugs and spoons x

  • Good morning everyone :hello:

Bright and sunny here today, but looks very frosty outside. Still working on assignment due today:eek: Can't start today's list as OH still in bed. So tempted to use flying as a way to procrastinate on the studying :o

Goodintentions storage sounds a good idea. But only for really good stuff. Otherwise your daughter would be better selling her furniture and saving the charges. Depends what she wants to do and where she plans to live when she graduates. And as its her stuff suggest she pays for storage - that will concentrate the mind on what to keep. Alternatively, has she got any friends who live locally who could store things for her? I went to my local university and was forever storing friends belongings over summer holidays.

When it comes to moving things there's no better student bonding experience than helping with a flitting. Between your daughter and her bf they should be able to rally a crowd and get it done themselves. By this stage they've probably helped with a fair few of their friends and should be able to call in some favours.

Pigpen I agree. You need to take the chance to rest up at home. If you go away you could just end up with a mad dash back to the hospital. Hope your Dad improves.

Right, time for second coffee a quick brekkie and face the textbooks. Flying will be today's list once OH wakes up.

    Morning

    Daily stuff done
More photos taken ready for the next free weekend on eby.!!

GI~~ I would get your daughter to sell the stuff on to other students, unless she has long term plans for it and it is worth keeping, I would also suggest she gets a part time job to pay for the storage fees if she wants to keep it, I am hard hearted I know, but her stuff = she pays, it will help her long term with budgeting etc.

Pigpen~~ stay at home, send OH, go and visit your father ~ get well vibes being sent. PLUS look after yourself!!

Sc cooker is on, pork stew tonight
Off out today for 'afternoon tea' with my new boss, considering I don't drink tea this should be interesting!! got to go smart.

Kitchen floor done, had to remove tea marks with cif where others had split tea.

Happy Birthday to any one I have missed.

    Morning all

GI I agree with Rosetta and Kazw - sell and keep the cash unless it is treasured stuff.

Piggers healing vibes for you and your Dad

Valli - sinus pain is evil, love and bowls of steam for you

Still working on my report, nearly there and very pleased with it, I've learnt new skills and gone outside of my comfort zone. Hope to finish this one and all support bits today. I have another today which I think will be technically harder but shorter.

Shower now and then to help DS3 with various bits of random homework.

Day at home (but may need to get food) planned and looking forward to it!

Just checked my login for secondary school allocation day after a prompt email from the county team. All sorted and ready to go but think you get an email anyhow - it has been 6 years since DS2 so a while. Anyone else got one 'Moving On' this year?

Cue phonecall at 10.30 - 'I have a rash - have you changed the washing stuff?'

I actually thought afterwards it might be the new Primark top that she was wearing before i washed it....

Woken to a text at stupid o'clock - her phone is lost/stolen!

    I'm so not happy!

On the positive side - I have booked 3 nights in London for me and O/H for his aunty and uncles golden wedding at Easter...
