  • Has anyone else noticed a neglected task in their routine? A job that is always put off?

    TMD xx

yep, getting a bit cheesed off with steam mop, despite descaling it several times I cannot get it to pump steam out, so I am going to have to send it back - but I hate mopping with a passion, so I may have to get on my hands and knees this week

    Ironing done

    Lots of washing done

Collected DS1 from his trip. He is extremely tired. He went for a nap and 4 hours later I woke him up as I need him to sleep tonight. He is begging to be allowed to sleep again so I have sent him into the bath and I'm sitting guard outside the door in case he nods off.

I have cleared half of my bedside table. Will do rest later on, twelfth of never maybe.

  • Hi all

    *holds mop aloft in air*

I Decogecko hereby swear to mop my kitchen and bathroom floor (they're next to each other, no excuse) at least once a week, regardless of the kitten following me and instantly putting paw prints across the floor (or the other 2 cats, deciding at that minute to walk through the kitchen). It doesn't have to be perfect conditions to mop, as long as I have vacuumed the floors there is no other excuse.

    *lowers mop, develops nervous twitch*

I'm so glad it's not just me that struggles to get this simple but very thankless task done.

    Deco x

Hi all, have only just caught up with thread - golly what an eventful week some of you have had. I hope all illness/injuries/cars/household disasters get sorted out as painlessly (both physically and financially) as they can.
Newbies (and those of us who are old enough to know better) - don't worry if the list doesn't happen or the inner sloth takes over; there's always next week and nobody is judging you (or if they are, why have they nothing better to do?)

I've been very off list but done an acceptable amount of tidying, hoovering and dusting. Have finally finished freelance report; shaken up a bit as it took so long; yes it was a difficult one but my natural ability to get distracted by practically anything else was very much in evidence this week. I do believe it will teach me a lesson in organising and completing work, as I'm now telling all and sundry (friends not work management yet) that I'm going to go freelance from 31 Aug. There now I've posted it in public, nervous twitch. I can be fairly sure my manager is not a fly lady, bless him.

    Have a good week everyone.

Kiddies bathed and away to bed, bless em they are shattered. Valli you are right, I think he's a sensitive boy and while I've never called him shy, he has used that label for himself, and there is no point if he's neither leaning nor having fun. His swimming lessons are going well, though. He gets in the pool with the other kiddies, with just the instructors, so we'll just leave it at that. Maybe when he's at school he'll decide he wants to do something.

Anyway, all tidy here, toys away, kitchen wiped round and everything away, clothes all away although I do have a small ironing pile. Kids bedding dried overnight so that is put away too, and we are all set for tomorrow.

So I'm having a cuppa, and a browse, then will go to bed and read.

I've started to reduce my meds these last two weeks, and feeling ok. At the moment I'm 2 days on and 1 day off. Next week it'll be alternate days. I do feel tired but not stressed or anxious, so seeing that as a good sign.

Anyway. Enjoy you evenings and "see" you on the new Fred. X

All ironing done; ebays relisted plus two items added. Pots washed and put away, the DW and I worked in tandem. Cottage pie out and thawing for tomorrow's tea.

I have now pulled all my herbs and spices out of the cupboard, informed DD that the (slightly) OOD ones are 'fine', and typed up a list of what I have got and blu tacked it to the inside of the door. Because if I had had a list I wouldn't now have two bottles of ground ginger...
in the hope that when we are 'cooking' fancy foods I will spot what I have and know not to buy more.
If Excel hadn't crashed mid-save I would have a list stuck inside my diary, too. If I had a fancy phone it would be on my phone. But I haven't.

    - football is a funny game - not all boys enjoy it. When you are looking around schools ask what games the boys play at playtime - because if, for all of them, football is an option every day it can be really difficult for the boys who don't like it. I pulled DS from one particular team when, despite the fact that he is football crazy, it was clear there were issues. And that was JUST before a game. If kids get into a team where the manager really really wants to win (as opposed to letting the kids play and have fun) then you can end up driving miles for your child to play for 5-10 minutes of a game.

The odd thing is, he loves it! And when we watched DD at hers, he was so excited, jumping up and giving her high-fives. He goes straight for the ball as soon as we get there, but once the parents sit down and register is taken, he just wants to hide under a chair. We do it at home, and all the exercises and he tells us what we're doing wrong lol.

He just doesn't want any strangers looking at him :( bless his little nylon football socks :A
