Just found a hotel on londontown.com for £105 EXCLUDING taxes (total £120.75)

Same hotel, same cancellation etc is £105 INCLUDING taxes on laterooms.com

Would I have a valid claim?

Just want to post that I just tried this and got Kings Cross Prem Inn for £80. for two nights in Aug.

Was £194. on Londontown
£180 on Booking.com.

Very pleased as daughter wants to go to the sonic meet in London!

Thanks again Budgetflyer.
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

this londontown.com cashback offer, does it apply to any website, because i have found a web site called easyclicktravel.co.uk that has bettered the price, but as its not one of the big, recognised sites, will londontown.com still recognise them and honour the £100 pledge?

I'm confused, let's say...

I have found a B&B rate at the Happy hotel for £70
and
London town has a B&B rate for £75 AND a room only rate for £65 for same hotel
(with the same conditions)

If I booked the hotel's rate directly for £70 and tried to claim, would they say 'there was a cheaper rate on our website so claim not valid" even though one has breakfast and one doesn't?

Taken from Londontown T&Cs:
An "identical offer" means an offer which, aside from price, is identical in all respects, such that it can be accessed and booked by the public for the same hotel, same room type, same package (e.g. breakfast, dinner, voucher, etc), same number of guests, same currency, same applicable taxes, same dates, and the same terms of payment and cancellation.

So according to that yes you would be able to claim legitimately.

I've found a loophole with the Brighton Hilton, HOWEVER.
On Londontown:
Full payment is taken by the hotel between the time of booking and arrival. Your booking cannot be modified or cancelled.

On Hilton:
Full non-refundable credit card prepayment required at time of booking. Booking non-changeable.

Does that count as a difference? Would I be able to claim?

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Anyone able to help on this one...
28 November for 1 night staying at Club Quarters St Pauls.

Londontown - £131 for the suite
Hotels.co.uk - £114 for the suite

Only diffrence I can see is the cancellation policy on each site:

Londontown
You may cancel anytime up until 3pm 1 day prior to arrival. No cancellation charge applies unless you cancel after this time, in which case the cancellation fee is the equivalent of one night's stay.

Hotels.co.uk
We understand that sometimes plans fall through. We do not charge a change or cancel fee. However, this property (Club Quarters St. Pauls) imposes the following penalty to its customers that we are required to pass on: Cancellations or changes made after 7:00 PM (GMT Standard Time) on Nov 25, 2009 are subject to a 1 Night Room & Tax penalty. The property makes no refunds for no shows or early checkouts.

Will they honour the price match on this?

They are offering 'free gifts' with London hotel bookings (whether you want them or not!):

"You get up to 4 free gifts with this booking worth over £49"

Does that mean they will cite that as something 'not identical' with any other website - making it pointless to try to find a better deal?

Am I wasting my time, or has anyone had this ignored in the comparison?
