I envy just about everyone that I see walking down the road, easy swing, no problems or pain and obviously good to go for hours. Yes, I was like that once but I didn't appreciate it till my health started to deteriorate. I'm not housebound or badly disabled by any means but everything is limited by my reduced mobility now. So I do envy others their good health.

I do envy those my age who are in perfect health, when on top of a chronic illness I always seem to pick other things up so always feel run down (only 32!!). Apart from that I'm happy with my life, but it is hard not to compare yourself to others when you are seeing the unedited glamourous showreel of their lives on Facebook (or brag book) xx

quite strange ready this post. It was only saturday night that I was reading through various facebook messages and "LIKES" on certain photos and thought", why don,t people do that with mine.?? Even family to family photos they don,t do the ""LIKE"" part but do with other members. That hurts, but my hubby just says ignore, we got far more important things to worry about.

Just makes me think "Do certain members of my family like me or just jealous of me"..

    Am I being stupid??

Why do you care what other people think? The only people you should worry about are the people you love and respect. If other people are jealous of you then that is their problem.

I should also note that I'm envious of anyone with sleek, glossy straight hair. I spend ages each morning trying to make mine behave and that's all ruined with one spot of rain. Oh for hair that would let me just wash and go.

One answer, KEBELO!!! Straightening system in some hairdressers, works for around three months and is fab x

Dont think you are being stupid, it could be the other toss of the coin and someone, (MIL) has "starred" you, made you a favourite, and every single thing you like, comment on and put on facebook, she then goes and likes!! Its like having a stalker!!:rotfl:
The worst occasion when a friend pulls you up about your mother in law liking a photo, that you have liked, of said friends son in his school uniform, and they arent friends!!

I dont envy anyone, because you truely never know what there lives are about. You have to take the good with the bad. ive got to a stage in my life, where i dont feel i need to fit in with the latest fad, gadget or earn loads of money to do so. Ive cut my hours to 3/4time and have more time. Instead of having an expensive gym membership, i have a treadmill but also walk a lot on the beach and cycle. I spend more time with friends than shopping. I budget and when everyone who works on Mondays gets that Monday Morning Feeling, i smile and have a cuppa and a lie in. I used to envy all my friends in loving relationships, but seriously out of 10 of them only 2 are happy... I spend time reading, cooking and chilling out and enjoying the simpler things in life. Oh and learning how to save a little more for the things i want to do by coming on this site. I think of facebook as everyone trying to out do everyone, i dont get involved in it and dont post my whole life story on it. its just another version of some people trying to keep up appearances.

I envy people who do extreme sports..I just do not have the make up to fly down a mountain in one of those flying suits.
    I wish i did..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
  • Anyone who falls pregnant at the drop of a hat. I've spent almost two years trying. I'm constantly fending off questions like 'when will you have kids then' from smug women who try for one month and are then happily pregnant and on their way again. I don't think they comprehend how awful and all consuming it is.

It's why I now have to avoid facebook for fear of a ninja sneak attack pregnancy announcement via a scan picture that I've been 'tagged' in to break the happy news....

    Sorry- bad day! :o

I don't envy anyone at all. I am not saying that in an ideal world that I wouldn't have a few things be slightly different. But in real life I have nothing but happiness for people who have things I don't, in my head I wish them all the joy that they could gain from whatever it is. I know that in truth I am incredibly fortunate and as my dear mum would say, better off than better folk. :)

I really do like your post. You are sooo bang on with a lot of things.

Think I was feeling it a bit with my post as I have had so much going on lately and little tiny things that was on facebook got too me.

Thanks for making me a little bit alive
