Hi, I wondered if anyone can help me. I've just heard about claiming for delayed flights and wondered if it is worth claiming in our situation.
Our family (6 adults and 2 children) had booked flights from gatwick to cincinatti via a transfer at new york (JFK) . The first flight was delayed (not as long as 3 hours) so we missed our connecting flight. After a lot of hassle trying to get them to put us on another flight they finally get us booked on another flight late that evening. We turn up to check in and they say we weren't booked on that flight at all and there are no seats available. We are then booked on another flight the next morning. They didn't want to provide us with any food or hotel for the night but eventually we were given some cans of coke and several packets of peanuts!! They said they managed to get us booked into a hotel for the night and they had arranged a taxi. Several hours later the taxi still hadn't shown so we had to chase that up. eventually we got to the hotel (early hours of the morning) only to find we didn't have any rooms there. They hotel was very helpful and gave us some food for the children and let us share a 2 bed room for the night. The morning flight went smoothly!
That's the gist of it anyway. Anyone know if we could claim?
Thanks in advance.0 -

Hi Kate,
I'm in a similar situation with Delta Airlines. I'm in the process of putting together an LBA and am unclear as to whether to send it to
Delta Europe Customer Care Centre
TSA 21235
75564 Paris Cedex 12
France
or
Delta Airlines
P.O. Box 24454
London
W5 3HF
I'll post back here once I hear back from Delta. If indeed I do hear back from them...
Hi, I also need to send a letter to Delta. Anyone know the address to send it to?
Thanks0 -
Well I posted my letter to the France address, though its better than a PO address.
I''let you know what they say when I hear back0 -
Hi everyone.
I have got an update for you all re my claim for compensation due to flight delay.
I have just spoken to a lovely lady in United Arlines Customer care, seem I have wasted my time sending a recorded delivered letter to their London address as they only take complains via their customer care email address which is very hard to do unless you have your mileage plus number. However a case has now been set up for me I have to give them 30 days to respond. She seemed to think that although our flight was delayed by just 137 this is all the EC Regulation 261/2004 would deal with, the fact the we did not reach our final destination till 16 hours later than when we should have this has nothing to do with EC Regulation 261/2004 and therefore nothing to do with them. I know this is wrong.
I forgot to say the reason for the delay was late turn due to engine start what ever that means.
I will wait for the email from them to arrive and keep everyone posted.

Not holding out much hope, but it was a 5 hours plus delay due to technical problems.
I will post back if/when I receive a response0 -
Is Delta part of KLM then?
Has anyone had a successful claim with Delta?0
