Me again! Ive decided I cant really go jogging (i live in a right rough area, if i jogged round here, people would think i was running away from the police!)...
Anything I can do 'cardiowise' in the privacy of my own home? You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....
*I have done reading too*
*I have done geography as well*0 -
How about a fitness DVD? Unless you have anything like a bike or a treadmil in your house this will be the next best thing
Or a trampette? They are not too expensive now.

me again! i need some good exercises i can do at home to tone up me inner thighs!
Good question, I was going to post something like this.:DParallel_Universe wrote: »Squats and lunges are the best thing you can do at home
If the inside of the thighs have gone a bit flabby, and the skin is getting looser, would these excersises actually tone up the flab and the muscle, and make the skin around the inner thighs tighter?
I was toying, only toying mind you lol with liposuction for these areas, not cause there is loads of fat cause there isnt, its just its gone a bit a flabby and loose skin, as I lost a fair bit of weight over the years, and the only thing that hasnt really tightened up is the inner thighs.
But with liposuction, I was thinking, would it make the skin more loose and flabbier, or would it make it look tighter.?
Any thoughts and help would be much appreciated.:D0 -

Only tone the mucsle, it wont affect the fat - and I'm no expert on lipo so I wouldn't like to say how it would affect your legs!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 492 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0 -
OK here goes.. I can lose weight or I can put it on. The problem I have is that I want to lose body fat and not muscle... BUT.. I don't.. I either lose both or put both on.
When I started training a few years ago I weighed 82kg and was 23% bf, I dropped to 72kg and was 14%. I decided I was a rake and needed "some" muscle.
Now I have done weights for a few years I am up to 84kg (I am 183cm tall) but am now 19% bf.
I just don't seem to put much muscle on easily. I am scared that if I start doing a lot of cv work or eating a lot less I will lose the only small amount of muscle I do have.
Ideally I want to be under 10% bf so I can see the old 6 pack (have definition) but still have a decent amount of muscle so I don't look like I'll blow away in the wind.
I train 5 times a week at lunch time. I am basing my routine on Ray Klerck's routine (Men's Health August 2006). At the moment I feel like it is a LOT of hard work for little or no gains.Lady Astor: "Winston, if I were your wife I'd put poison in your coffee."

Hi Matt
Unfortunately some men do find it hard to put on muscle, as you say you either put on muscle AND fat or none. Have you tried taking a look at your diet, and switching some of the carbs to proteins? Following the plan from Mens health 5 days a week sounds fine, those plans are usually very well written but you don't mention your diet.
Try following a low fat diet and increasing your protein intake to see if that helps? Extra CV work would burn fat of course but it would also break down some msucle so I would be reluctant to increase that.
Hope this has been some help?OK here goes.. I can lose weight or I can put it on. The problem I have is that I want to lose body fat and not muscle... BUT.. I don't.. I either lose both or put both on.

An example of what I eat:
8am Bowl of porridge with raisins
11.30am Whey protein shake (H&B) 33g of protein
1pm Gym
2.30pm veg and a tin of tuna 35g of protein
6pm Spag Bol (brown spaghetti)
10pm a slice of brown bread with peanut butter.
I feel that I would have to be ultra strict to accomplish anything. Is this normal?
Where do you stand on supplements?
Cheers for the info.Lady Astor: "Winston, if I were your wife I'd put poison in your coffee."

Hi Matt
That sounds fine, but here are a couple of suggestions:
- Include a handfull of beans in with your salad for extra protein
- Have a couple of low-fat yoghurts (maybe one after breakfast and one after dinner?)
- Have a glass of low fat milk/milkshake during the day as well
I think the supplement such as the protien shake are a usefull addition to your diet given that you are trying to increase your muscle mass.An example of what I eat:

hi there
over the past 8 months ive lost 2 stone. i started at 15st 11lb (phew!) im 5' 11", and had done NO exercise for 10 years (walking to the car was about it!). i srtaed my regime by kicking chocolate last sept 9lost 6 pounds JUST doing that!!! (amazing), then took up body combat and body pump at the local gym in dec 06, and am still going (pump 2 to 3 times a week, since i heard that resistance training is better for calorie burning.., and combat once a week). so, yes, i suppose i am a bit pleased with myself, but do have a question
im now at 13st 10lbs, eating more healthily than i ever have before, but seem to have hit a plateau. at 48 im not expecting a six pack (but i do now have a two pack appearing!), but am doing well with the fitness stuff, so would like to keep the progress going - so is it just a question of training every day?... or more aggressive dieting... im not obsessed, but would like to clear maybe half a stone, most of which resides around the waist.
many thanks for your time0 -
