  • Many Landlords just want easy money & don't maintain their properties.

Yeah! true but these LLs only attract the absolute misfits and these LLs will always get humped renting to muppets and rejects, because decent tenants won't want their stinkin boggin property .

    (1) ... I'm not the one turning nasty !!

    (2) ... I think you're the self-centred, bigotted landlord.

    (3) ... Do you really think your tenants tell you what they think of you as a Landlord ??
They want somewhere to live & you are Lord of the Manor !!

    (1) ... If you care to re-read the thread from the beginning, you will note that you were the one attacking me (& any other LL) and effectively claiming ANY statement we made were untruths/lies/BS.

    (2) ... Ho, Ho, Ho ... You silly muppet --> To quote someone famous, "I fart in your general direction" :p

    (3) ... Think so ?? ... I KNOW so, you sad muppet !!! ...
... One of my past tenants loved the village so much that when they were ready to buy their own place, they bought a plot less than a hundred yards from the rented property and built a new house ... & I regularly send prospective tenants to chat with them to get their independent reference for both me as a landlord & living in the village.

{BONUS} ... As for your later silly comments about "Hard work is doing 40 Hours a week" :rotfl: ---> No wonder you don't seem to be getting anywhere in life with a limited/lazy attitude like that ... I worked 60-80 hours a week for several years & took every bit of overtime going to pay for my first couple of houses, and even now I still work for far more than your paltry 40 hour limit. :p:D

It's nothing to do with envy or money.
If you are a good landlord & respect tenants rights, that's great.

Many Landlords just want easy money & don't maintain their properties.
No doubt those Landlords think they're fantastic as well & would presume their tenants might agree.

Hard work is going to work in a factory, going to work down the mine, going to work in an office, doing 40 hours a week, maybe at low pay.

It is not easy money, I work shifts doing 48 hours per week. Then the rest of my time off I am busy renovating property and also trying to get quality time with my three children.
I am doing all this so that they will not have to work all the hour's God sends to get by. If I can achieve this it also means that if they are lucky enough to have their own children it will also be easy for them.
That is why I hate lazy lying tenant's

I too work hard in a difficult and stressful job. It's not the reason why I hate LLs that want to put my life in danger to feather their nests though.

If you don't like being a LL, do something else.

Where do I say that I don't like being a LL? Are you saying that I put my Tenant's life in danger?
Because if you are you had better prove it otherwise you are walking on a very sticky wicket!

{A} ... If you can be bothered to do the research, you will find that the number of cases of Bad Tenants is FAR MORE than the number of cases of Bad Landlords ... NO "dream world", just simple facts & reality

    Maybe bad landlords= bad tenants?

Or you could find one seriously bad landlord with many tenants who get the heavies round less than a month into a tenancy. A certain person formerly of Hastings springs to mind.

Or there are the landlords that refuse to do repairs.

Or the landlords that are uncontactable so when you pay for an emegancy repair to be done, they will not sanction it so you are left out of pocket.

Or those who decide that "oh my sister wants the flat" so when you take the letter to the council and present yourself as homeless, claims that the letter is fake.

Or those that withold £300 deposit claiming an entire flat need redecorating because there is a grease mark above the cooker.

Seek possesion once you are made redundant or get pregnant because they don't want the unemployed or children living there.

Or those that would refuse the disabled as they would be classed as "DSS" even when working.

  • Landlords need more rights in evicting bad tennents thats for sure. As for maintainance if the property isnt maintained dont rent it simple as ;) . If your paying low rent expect it to not be maintained well, after all if you cant afford it why should someone else foot the bill for you. Another example of "I deserve everything" britain!
  • There should be stronger rights for landlords. Every month you wonder if the monies will be paid and what stories and lies you are going to hear.
If my tenants were to pay on time every month they can stay as long as they like why would we want the hastle of getting new ones in?

Yes I qite agree about stronger rights for landlords! You hear horror stories about SOME tenants and some not paying rent, and wrecking the property. I have been one of the unfortunate landlords. Owed £9K in rent, And £8K in damage property.

After court case which I won, the tenant left and completely dissapeared off the face off the earth. Shielded by the Council I might add, and given a Council House. Councils deserve what they reap!

Being a landlord, no thanks! It makes landlords harder!
