Ok, so now my dating woes!

Dating can be tough for very short men, as it can be for very tall women, they have an unalterable physical characteristic that they are fully aware will make them undesirable to nearly all their potential partners. It mustn't feel nice at all.
OP, I think you're doing the right thing by going on a second date. You're often more relaxed and at ease on a second date, and the conversation moves on beyond the basics so you tend to get more of an idea of whether your personalities are compatible.
If he's so funny, charming and you have so much in common that you don't want the second date to end, then grand! You'll know you can get past the height issue.
If its still bothering you at the end of that date, then call it a day. Two dates to be sure doesn't count as 'leading someone on' at all, so don't worry about that.
Here's a bit of inspiration for you!

Now... all you short women... could you please take your hands off the tall men and leave them for us giantess's??? hmmm... please?
I wouldn't date a man significantly shorter than me. I did thoroughly adore one boyfriend who was my height in our stockinged feet. In fact the first time I met him I declared to a friend that he was the man I was going to marry.Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

As a 5'1" female, I do apologise for nabbing a tall man though - my DH is 6'2" and would've been much better suited to someone a little taller :rotfl:
I am 5ft 3 and OH is 6ft 4.. finding a pushchair we could both push was a nightmare!!!Now... all you short women... could you please take your hands off the tall men and leave them for us giantess's??? hmmm... please?

Aaaawww bless.. a pair of pixies!! (I'm a pixie too)
Personally I wouldn't have a second 'date' because I wouldn't want to lead him on, but that doesn'r mean not go out with him again. Though you could be honest and say you do not want a relationship with him but think he is interesting and you have lots in common and you always have an opening for a new friend.
I wouldn't want children with a height issue.. I have a couple on growth hormone replacement (sounds like he could have done with it too!) and I am a bit saddened DS2 has stopped at 5ft8 .. it is an ok height but still short. By constrast OH is 6ft4 lol.
Another Pixie here, there aint many men shorter than me (5ft 1") but thats a good thing cause i wouldnt like to date someone shorter than me.
My first husband was 5ft 9" and my second is 5ft 11".
Pigpen my eldest son is 5ft 8", my second is marginally taller but not by much. I am afraid i come from a long line of dwarfs. The only tall people in my family on both Mom and Dads side have married into the family. Makes for great amusement at family weddings and the like.:rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The average male height in the UK is 5ft 9 (Mr Conway is this height, whilst I'm 5ft 7)... So for every man who is 6ft 4, there will be one who is 5ft 1!
So people considering 5ft 8 to be a little on the short side for a man might be surprised that this is fairly normal.0 -

THIS! Particularly if they were pretty thin, too. I'd feel like Big Momma. But I know it's based on how I feel about myself and my self-confidence, so I'd like to think that, if I liked the guy, I'd carry on seeing him and hopefully I'd stop feeling so huge

I once was asked by a colleague if I would be her step sons date to his work Christmas party. As he worked in f1 racing I naturally jumped at the chance. What she didn't tell me was that he was about 5'6 ish so 3 inches shorter than me. The problem was that the only shoes that I had brought with me were towering stilettos which put me at over 6'.
He told his step mum that he felt like a poodle being taken out for his evening stroll all night!Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. I have to admit that all my past loves have been 6ft+ and all but one said that they loved short women (mostly for reasons such as 'they're cute' or 'they bring out my protective instinct')
I did have one boyfriend when I was young who was 6'5 and he was a bit too tall for me. The problem was that he was also slow (he said 'relaxed') and when we were out and about I'd often turn round quickly and find myself with an expanse of chest in my face and have to crane my head right back to see what he was up to 'up there'.

Being a tall lad I've always preferred tall-ish women (although I fully reserve the right to call anyone under 6ft shortie).
When I was about 16 I went out on a date with a girl who was 5'1" and I felt like I was talking to the top of her head all night and that she was looking up my nose, which can't be a pleasant sight. She was a really attractive girl, but the height difference really freaked me out.0 -

lol.. I tell OH I reserve the right to call anyone over 6ft 'giraffe' .. and I am not short I am pocket sized for his convenience.. he does just pick me up and move me out of the way if I am dithering though.
the biggest issue I've found is he wants to walk about 3 times faster than me with his giraffe legs.. I do 3 steps to his 2.. solved by us driving.
I love going to tesco with him, there is always someone tiny struggling to reach something on a top shelf and he just reaches over them and passes it down, some do ask for help too.
We did see a couple one time she was about 5ft and he was about 7ft.. they just looked like the Krankies.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
