You say that but my partner never really goes out.

It does sound fishy if she's not telling you what shes up to...thiers only so many games and emails you can read. I have to admit I am on my computer alot yet my partner doesn't have a problem with it because he watchs tv and we still talk etc.

The only thing that would distract me from talking to my partner as well as being on lappie is watching something & games. As I said thiers only so many games to play & so many films to watch. Most time I am doing stupid things like checking ebay or fourms but I would put my laptop down at a moments notice if my partner mentioned it cause im not actally doing anything.

Talking to someone online would certainly give me a reason never to come off tho, and be annoyed if he was prying/trying to get me off. I think you need to get hold of that Ipad and see what shes up to for yourself.

If she uses a laptop it would be worth looking into Keyloggers.

    Yet.

    Online dating very much exists.

But that's a very large leap of faith based on your own behaviour. It's more likely they are wasting time on Facebook, Twitter, forums etc.

I know one lad that ended up going cold turkey on internet access as he was spending all his spare time reading up on computer game forums. He wasn't even playing the games, just addicted to keeping up with what the discussion was on the forum! In fact he actually said that his game playing time went from several hours a month to zero.

Safe to say you are not my partner.
  • Hmm, what a bore. Tricky. Well, you can either just put up with it and being ignored in that manner or maybe it's time to get proactive and do something about it.

Faced with that kind of nonsense possibly at some point I might launch an attack and start spamming them with lots of emails saying "Hi, it's me, how are you, fancy a chat?" then maybe some pics of my bum and feet and a close up of some bogies or something to get their attention. Maybe a load of funny net meme pictures, y'know, The Drama Llama and humungously fat people and lots of happy lol cats and car crashes and pics of fluffy bunnies and all sorts of silliness. Anything and everything. Bang out a whole load of it. Lots of daft messages filling up their box.

Then maybe step it up a bit to stuff like "Oi, net addict, yes you, I'm talking to you, now flipping pack in what you're looking at and give me some attention, right now, otherwise I'm putting my profile up on three free dating sites and I'm going to trade you in for something sensible. You've got ten seconds to comply, counting now, 10, 9, 8, 7 - too late, splat, you're a gonna!"

If that makes them angry or they tell you to shut up and get lost, well, the writing's on the wall, isn't it. Are you prepared to put with up that or is it time to move on.

Oh yes, there are some limits. So what are you going to do, carry on being ignored or force them to give you some attention - or dump them and go and get yourself a real human being. I think those three are the options, aren't they.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I do similar to your other half. My hubby cannot stand soaps while I happily watch Eastenders and Corrie while faffing online on MSE etc. So im in one room on laptop and hes in another on ebay and indulging in virtual spending car fantasies! lol

That said, if the offer was dinner, cinema or going to visit friends then Id rather do that. But most nights after work Mon-Fri are domestic type with the odd 'highlight'.

  • I've read people's opinions on here. Most have said that there is no relationship and to end things. Is it really that simple for them to walk away from a 7 year relationship?
