Goes by house, not just name.
Yes, the offer is also linked to the Postcode entered in order to get it.
The OP would only now be a "new" customer if he was not part of the original household/family who have just cancelled Sky.
(Or if the cancellation had taken place a year or more ago)
  • Hi, I need some advice

I currently have sky which i have given a 30 day notice for (before this offer was in place)

Can sum one else in my household take the offer on their name and install a new sky connection via the existing dish WITHIN the 30 days? Hope that makes sense...

Look forward to your replies. Many thanks

No, and they won't be able to do it outside the thirty days either. The offer is for new customer households only.
No one in your household can sign for new customer offers until Sky has been cancelled there for at least twelve months.

Unless they have a different surname. My girlfriend has taken sky out in her name to get us the 12 months half price with me having cancelled earlier in the month.
  • I am at the end of my tether. I absolutely hate talking to Sky.
I just told them I want to cancel my account. My reason is that I am currently paying for my mum's Sky, and she wants to get it in her own name and get the 50% discount.
Sky have said that once a person cancels, that address cannot get Sky for a whole year! I simply cannot believe this is true. What happens when people cancel and move house? this means the new tenants cannot get Sky...

Does anyone know anything about this?
    Help please!!!

Sky are well aware of this supposedly cunning ruse, and their system will detect it-otherwise people would endlessly recycle the account around different family members to get the benefit of any new subscriber offer.
Does your Mum have the same surname?
If you could do this, you will of course have a break in service.

That's utter rubbish. I know of someone who moved from Sky to Virgin, then in the first month Virgin put their prices up! He was so incensed that he cancelled Virgin, and Sky gave him a new box, plus 50% off his first 6 months.

Oh and the guy I spoke to said the code's from MSE are all invalid and will not be accepted by Sky - new customer or not.
    BAD customer service.
