Slightly off topic, but have just seen the Fuji S5600 (NOT 6500) in Asda for £109. They often have Fuji end-of-line cameras at reasonable prices - not guaranteed to be in stock at all locations, so maybe phone first.

I have the 58mm Hoya UV filter and the cap fits on to it. Excellent camera off to Iceland in a couple of weeks so I will get a good chance to really check it out.:j

    I prefer Sainsbury's !! :D

I think taking photos in a supermarket is just wrong.
I remember when you could smoke on the bus
  • Thanks ColinW for info on filter.

Just found a leather case (as on Jessops for £39.99 pick up) for the S9500/S6500 for £19.98 with free delivery.
Also bought a uniross charger xpress 300 with 4 X 2500 AA nimh rechargeable batteries for £7.20 (free delivery)
    Both from amazon.

And also from amazon (the component shop) 2 Fuji 1GB XD type H picture cards for £8.45 each (+£4.50 each postage!! - but still worked out cheaper than 7dayshop)
    Val :)
  • Does anyone protect the large screen on the 6500 with durasec or similar?
    Thanks
    Val :)

You have bought almost exactly what I bought for the camera. The only other thing I bought was a 58mm Polariser filter which makes the sky nice and blue. I think that was about £27.

Got a nice Antler leather case from Currys yesterday for 9.99 which is for camcorders but fits perfectly for the Fuji camera.

That's about the cheapest I've seen for a type H 1gb card, which gives 340 pics I think at highest res on the 6500fd
