Thanks, I bought one as a present for someone. The man at Jessops tried to sell me a UV filter to protect the lens for £16.99.
Anyone else got one and where can i find it cheaper?
Also, would like a carrying case/bag and the picture card. What size card is best to buy?

[edit] xD cards are around £13 per gb, little reduction for 2gb, so I'd be tempted to get 2 1gb cards (as in don't put all your piccies on one card..)

Have just ordered one of these cameras from Jessops at £140.96....what you have to do to get it at that price is add a roll of jessops diamond 36 exp 35mm film at 97 pence which brings the order to £150.96 and then use the jessops code "MADNESS10" which gives you £10 off orders above £150 and then select collect at store and the price is £140.96 an absolute bloody bargain for a camera like this.

Few peeps chasing the s5600 at crimbo when argoose dropped their price... £110 on pixmania, looks like you get 2yr warranty aswell, I got an S5600 from currys on price match, took some pictures at the zoo and was mighty impressed at 10x zoom... not much hope for the half dozen film cameras I have in the cupboard!!!

Yes, recommended, got one off sleazebay for less than a fiver, it fit the camera fine, but the fuji cap didn't fit the filter?... just bought another cap for a quid

Also, I bet battery life is better on that 6500, as it looks like the zoom is manual (twist lense) rather than electronic (buttons) on the 5600, though a pack of duracell lasted all day (and some) at the zoo.

Not sure if it includes charger, but worth it for the batts alone, sell case on ebay to cover costs, tripod only worth a quid, ordered a couple of sets with an order, though I can't register with google checkout

The 6500 is solidly aimed at those who would like to think of themselves as a semi-pro but without the means to buy the pro equipment. The 5600 (and now the 5700) are aimed at the definite dabbler but who wants something more than the point and shoot.

Battery life - I go for the 7dayshop option. Even with the postage, I tend to find them overall cheaper than the rest and have never been less than impressed with performance. Get the high capacity Ni-Mh 2500 to 2800 depending on budget (that goes for all shops, not just 7dayshop). They are usually quite good for uv filters and the likes too.
