Not a chardonnay, worth a try. I keep waking at 4am but luckily do go back off. When the children wake at 6am it's a completely different story though!

Your link had expired when I clicked so can't see the wine but we pay £2.99 for a nice white in @ldi. It's called Baron St Jean. Someone bought us expensive wine once but it was too woody for me! Much prefer the cheap stuff.

    Excellent price :j

I get confused about wine ... I like it when I drink it, and in the late afternoon, I often think, ooh, that'll be nice after my evening meal, a nice glass of wine. But then, come the evening - I just don't fancy it any more, I wish I did, but I don't.

KC I call that a good problem to have.

FWIT ALERT* do not read if you are easily irritated*

I just had a play with the Dave Ramsey free budgeting tool and I had no idea our income was 5k a month. I am horrified by how crap I/we have been with money, but on paper we could be overpaying a fortune.

I had just this morning found a four bed house where we could be mortgage free if ponyplops stayed put...because I feel so skint.

    Crazy stupid idiot.

Wow, thats a wakeup call! Don't beat yourself up, tho - I absolutely know that I wasted thousands of pounds before I found out about overpaying the mortgage ... and even when I did find out, instead of doing it, I bought that s*dding investment property in France, worst decision ever.

*rushes over to ed's to see what you've written there*

do you know what your baseline is and how much of your income should, in theory, be free?

What is the difference between what should be free and what you are left with the end of the month?

Where is the money disappearing to?

Don't beat yourself up, I had a similar shock when I last looked at our budget during Christmas hols. Once you've figured out the above, pay yourself first and cut your cloth with what is left.

I realise I didnt include school lunches or piano tuition, or ballet but thats waay under £200 a month.

According to the program we have £1400 a month spare.

I didnt include PC rallies, 40 quid a month tops, but even so...
