    And we don't go out.
Al, its *good* that you're "rich", please don't be embarrassed by it! But the job now is to make sure that those little employees (as MMM describes them) work harder for you, like Ed says.

Lovely comments and great ideas, thanks.

Well we are going away as always on the first May holiday so DH can play chess. I am feeling a bit less wincey about that.

Pavlovs and KC such fab ideas. I am oscillating moving wise between a house we can afford on one salary in case my job becomes untenable and a really nice one.

Ed we are ancient ( combined age of 93) and I have been chained to the chalk face since I was 21...22 years!

    You're welcome :)

I'm struggling with "untenable" if you can pay the mortgage with one salary - if so, surely yours could be used to up the savings so that FI/retirement comes a bit closer?

And if you and your OH total 93, I'm more ancient than you are :p

    Vintage. Love it!

    Welcome Sque and thanks.

After going through it with DH some stuff has been added...so the free money looks like a rather less glamorous £300. Still I am not complaining.

The two smallest are writing lists and packing for the trip in May...essential items such as Baby Spot's scarf...

I have rescued half a "vintage" butternut squash and turned it into vindaloo, ditto with some old spring onions and made "salad". I have dusted the iron off and actually used it.

KC some days I feel physically sick about work...I try not to say too much as I could easily enough be recognised and I don't want to make it real IYSWIM. Anyway I have half an eye on the exit.

Hi Al, you're not alone. I and the rest of the teachers at my school feel the same :(

DD wants to be a teacher - and I'm (seriously) slightly worried about this after seeing many teachers on MSE and how tired they seem and dragged down by the sheer bureaucracy involved.

My sis is a teacher (same subject as DD plans). Her OH is one too. Not that that convinces me!!! ;)
