Yes I'd already found Flylady before reading this thread but I see what you mean about the reminders! They did send one to say that they are sending two of everything by mistake due to a computer glitch at the mo but I didn't look at my emails for 2 days and had 109 of them!!!!!

    Is this a record???

I have however shined my sink and I must admit it still looks good a week later.

I've also had a good clear out being really ruthless so my local charity shop is very happy.

The trouble is I carry on buying things!!

soooo glad it's not just me who has no energy and doesn't feel like doing housework :-[. My house was getting to look like a bomb site but we blitzed it this weekend and I just love that feeling when it's all tidy and organised.

It's just keeping on top of it isn't it? I've made a vow not to sit down for my cup of tea and crumpets with melted cheese on, until I've whizzed around in the morning.
Just run, run and keep on running!

    Yes they are! ;D
My kids sometimes have crumpets for tea, we stop eating when they are full. I tel lthem they are learning about the past because nanna would have had things like sandwiches and toast or cake for 'tea' as a girl (she was a war baby)
Anyway... 'flying' through the housework? Well, I now have a set day for taking the sheets off the kids beds, and hoover all their rooms on the same day too. getting rid of towels because we definitely have too many, same for clothes, one son had actually grown out of loads of stuff and it just needed to move to the next room for his brother. Now all his stuff fits in the drawers ;D
I have a meal plan for this week, and its good because I have done it around stuff I had already so my shopping bill will be even less next week. monday - leftovers from sunday, tues- toad in the hole, weds - mince, thurs - chicken, fri - fish, sat and sun left unplanned bcos i quite like looking around the market to see whats about.
Im doing less laundry now, well doing it less often which is giving me the chance to get it put away as well.
I had a 'fling' just in the utility room (chucking things out - not the other sort ;)) and filled a bin liner with crap that was no good.
Did try the same with the hall cupboard but my youngest claimed the big box as his boat and sailed off down the hall in it ;D

Hi. My first time on this board and just found this thread.

Feel so much better reading everyone's posts. Its not just me who dry's their sink to ensure it is always shiny. My hubby huffs and puffs when he sees me doing it but if you leave water to dry on it, it makes a stain and I hate that. So everytime someone uses the sink I am there with the tea towel drying it. (I think I might need therapy for this!) :-[

I work full time so I tend to do little bits of housework throughout the week. Bathroom gets cleaned on sunday morning before I have my shower. Whilst I am then showering I can look around and feel satisfied that everything is clean. :)

Washing gets done daily (ish) and hung on indoor airer during the winter. I do have a tumble dryer but am too MSE to use it! :-/ :-/

As for ironing - haven't done it for 14 years. :o:o:o

If hubby wants something ironed he does it himself. I refuse to buy anything that needs ironing - all my work blouses and suits are drip dry. Anything else I just make sure I whip it out of the washing machine quickly and hang it up or out. ;D ;D ;D

The number of my friends who are always complaining about their ironing pile!

If you work full time something has to give - and its ironing for me. ;D
    Nice to save.

Thank you Emmacw - I really thought I was the only one to dry my sink!!!! Now I can insist that others do it too ;)

Generally I do do ironing - usually when I'm in a bit of a strop so that I can thump the iron down really hard and do a lot of muttering under my breath :o. Sometimes I quite enjoy it when I can listen to something on the radio or clamp my headphones on and listen to really loud music that himself doesn't like!!! ::)

I cant do without my tumble drier.
My garden is a boggy pit of mud this time of year, going in and out after washing that only ever gets half dry is a waste of my time IMHO. Time IS money, as I am a 'home executive' my worth is immesurable ;D
Clothes are not all stiff and crumpled like when you dry them indoors, and isnt it a false economy to dry indoors, especially on radiators, because you are heating the clothes rather than the house, and making the atmosphere damp. I dont iron much, and NEVER when the kids are awake (dangerous) There are a few things I have that need ironing, but mostly if you take something out of the drier and fold it straightaway, or hang it up, its not creased.
