Tip for keeping airing cupboard tidy, wrap bed sets up in one of the pillowcases and stack on a shelf. Also fold bath towels and then roll into a cylinder, they then stack better and look neater than a pile which falls over.

Also don't have more bedding and towels than you really need, you can't contol a huge pile of anything.

I like lisyloo's routine ;) as I also pay someone to do my ironing and clean bathrooms, she also hoovers and dusts so once a week it is all tidy and all clothes are clean and put away. I justify the money by working out how much my leisure time is worth and it is money well spent.

Newspapers are the other thing that seem to multiply in our house. I also used to get tons of junk mail but Mail preference service sorted that one out!

We have recyling, 2 wheelie bins, blue and green, and a green box for paper. The directive for what goes in each changes all the time so it is quite confusing round here ???.

For instance you can put paper in the green box, used to be blue bin, but not envelopes? The green bin, not the blue one is for general rubbish. Some areas of the town also have brown bins for organic waste and others have composting bins for the same stuff???

With the newspapers it isn't so much getting rid of them after they have been thrown into the correct bin but parting with bits of the weekend paper I would love to read but didn't get time for. I only get papers at the weekend now because I never read them during the week.

Met a friend for coffee yesterday. She has a great system which i must share with you all. She has one colour of socks for each member of the family, oldest child had black, middle one has grey etc... so theres never any worry about 'missing socks'
Also have another friend who just has given up on the matching pairs thing and her kids wear two socks of any colour or pattern if she cant find matching ones. I used to waste loads of time pairing up odd socks til i started pairing them up immediately after taking them off, then they get to the wash in pairs.
We mustn't forget ourselves in all this! Whilst watching the littluns in the bath, I clean the sink and toilet, but also use the opportunity to put a bit of fake tan on my arms and legs, remove or put on nail varnish, and file my feet :o

Your making me feel guilty with all this motivation and cleanliness, I have to say my house quite often looks like it's been burgled!!! I'm a single parent and work part-time and prep things at home and come on here - when have I time to clean?

Have to say things are a bit better - whereas things were too good to throw away and not necessarily suitable for charity shop - Ebay!! Much more likely to get rid of all the stuff when there's cash to look forward to.

Things are generally clean but untidy. My son is only 3 and loves tidying up and cleaning. He always helps and properly too not just pretending. Puts the washing in the machine - takes it out again - tidies videos etc. at nursery they say - he loves tidying up - me - don't knoe where he gets it from- probably thinks if I don't do it it'll never get done.

Always have clean bathroom though - it's my sanctuary - bath with a book and glass of wine and burner. bliss.

i am good with rubbish, is sorted and goes to tip once a week, as they oly do doorstep collectionof general rubbish where i am up to now, but i drive past the tip every weekday on way to school anyway, so not doesn't take long. I recycle paper, glass, textiles, card, metal. they have skips for all this stuff there. ;) didn't get much done yesterday, was my birthday on thursday and got bought a new book and kept reading it and reading it instead of doing housewrk. but what the hell, front room still spotless, kids really like it that way, and they all put everything away last night before bed, without being asked!!! going to blitz my room tomorrow night, (was planning on tonight but got to go to a ptfa meeting, sadly keep thinking about what i should be doing instead of ending up sat there bored). did get my new towel on sat, but not unwrapped them and not going to till its been blitzed.

i've beeng getting the flylady emails - yes there are hundreds but i am feeling so good about having a clean flat. as i work from home i find it quite good to take a break from my desk and blitz something for 15 minutes and as its only a 2 bed flat and only me its quite easy to keep on top of!

towel cupboard is todays job for me too - been meaning to do it for ages to stop everything falling out when it opens! i feel good knowing i'll get to all bits eventualy rather than thinking i have to do it all in a day!
