I have two stages of housework.
    1. Tidy up - everyday, wipe down and put away.
    2. Cleap up - proper scrub down etc once a week.

;D Both ideas hide out somewhere in the old grey matter and seldom come to light ;D ;D

As hard as i try, little Baby Boo wrecks everything - super sonic fast - she is very destructive ::) She was trying to get a spoon into her big sisters huge 'coca cola' money saving bottle - couldn't do it, decided to stamp on it till she made a hole big enough for the spoon to fit through :o

Also, she thinks the freezer door looks better open, and that the contents of the fridge should be displayed nicely on the living room floor ::)

But seriously, I did make a household timetable - worked well. Cut everything down to 15 mins a day - that only works if you tidy up after yourselves ::) Must draw up another one as Boo decided that she'd put the old one in the washing machine ::)

How many years of our lives to we spend tidying, cleaning up ??? ??? Maybe I don't wanna know, may give up housework for good ;D
I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....

How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!

I thunk I've made you think for a minute!

The bigger they get the worse it gets :-/ Sorry.
I decided that it was best to leave them to make their own mess in their own rooms . . . and jsut shut the door on it. At one point (when they were teenagers) we had to limit muga and glass es etc to 1 each cos they all used to end up under their beds in various stages of mould. Somehow everyone survivied though :P

jaybee, i do that with spelling without a glass of wine. have put it down to a typing impediment. mine are good (so far) in there rooms, they do put washing away, but i say no pots in bedrooms which probably helps, and they get extra pocket money for keeping there beds made etc every week. (even 3 yr old has a bash at making his) and as for the 8yr old and 13 yr old, if they don't put clothes in wash i don't wash them til they are, they soon miss something.

last night whilst tea was cooking, took the opportunity to wipe down cupboard fronts, and chuck out old food that past ots best from the fridge.

kids are all out for tea tonight, so my thinking is i'll blitz one room, then spend a week making sure it stays that good, then do another in a weeks time, etc.

will let you know how i get on,

Keep down the ironing now - kids do their own for their allowance. Baskets in their bedrooms where it all goes. So if they want it they have to iron it. I don't see it. Cleaning their own bedrooms is mandatory for allowance too. My ironing basket always empty ;D The kids baskets are always full ::)

Like 160 washing only gets done if put in the basket. I therefore get periodical large loads at the wrong time. ::)

Mine are 12 and 16. Both started ironing and earning an allowance when they started at secondary school. I was abit neurotic about safety with leads etc at first. Had the odd accident with the dropped iron, but survived (the iron that is).

I just felt mine were ready to take on responsibilities otherwise I could see me becoming the doormat. It does work, though I have seen my eldest go out in decidedly unironed clothes at times. But that is all part of growing up.

I always clean the shower whilst I am having one. Gets it out of the way at the same time. Give the whole area a good clean (soda, vinegar, borax etc) whilst the conditioner is working on my hair. Then I rinse everything (including myself). Dry myself and use towel to wipe down doors. All done. ;)
