Another crazy idea!! To stick to your routine try to think of housework as excersise!! i know it does sound mental but housework burns off calories and its killing two birds with one stone!!That mrs macchicken to you!0

Try https://www.flylady.net. Her philosophy is you can do anything for 15 min at a time.
What a brilliant recommendation! This is exactly what I need to be inspired into doing the housework. I thought reading through Cathy's tips on the old style board was inspiration but this is even better! (Sorry Cathy- :-[ )
I'm going to get my kitchen sink sparkling first thing tomorrow! ;D0 -
I hate housework and seem to spend all day moving the same its of junk backwards and forwards.
Oh how I long for tidy surfaces and coffee tables that don't collect bits of paper, childrens socks, biro lids (no biros ???) and half eaten cheese strings :-/Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
you could always forget about the cleaning for a year or two then get the two ladies from that TV programe How clean is your house to clean it . if they say why havent you cleaned you house you could always say you where to busy on this site .LoL0

I bought the "How Clean Is Your House" book recently (it was marked down so double bargain
) and they give a guideline to a daily, weekly, monthly tasks to do.
If you don't wish to buy it, ask your local library to order it in for you, then, borrow it and use your computer to write out the bits that interest you most for future reference when the book goes back.
I have done this as I'm making my Son and his wife a Household Notebook as they've just moved into their first appartment together (with baby and a dog I might add!!!) So many cleaning tips and ideas incorporated into Kim and Aggie's book.
HTH.
(BTW: I am an X-Flylady ... never could get completely to grips with it and my inbox flooded with emails simply drove me batty! All that time spent reading/deleting the emails I could have put to better use CLEANING! LOL )~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

i've unsubscribed too.
made a chart last night of who goes where when etc, and realised if i juggle things a bit, i can do bits of jobs that take say 10mins, in all sorts of places, which'll help. liked the idea of a room a day, but some days i'm out 12 hours so then they wouldn't get done, but a mate suggested doing half sat morn, half sum morn then going out for a treat, or walk or something to make getting it done quicker worthwhile, what do you think.0 -
I know the flylady emails get a little too much for some people but her ideas are great. I have all the reminders go straight to deleted items and just have it for the testimonial to help keep me on track. I like the babysteps approach and the control journal.
I finally have clear surfaces in my house and I have 2 toddlers!0 -
Just unsubscribed from flylady as well. Just joined last night and went to check my e mails just now. 26 had been sent from fly lady. If I read all the e mails I would never get any housework done.0

I've just unsubscribed from flylady too. 30 emails! I felt some of it was a bit patronising as well. Some good tips on the web site though so I shall stick with looking at that occasionally.
Methinks I could have done a load of housework instead of reading all those emails >:(0
