I have a thing about cushions, if they are plumped & poised correctly & in the right order then I think the room looks much tidier. I also pull the rug straight & square & central all the time, it doesn't have a fringe but if it did I'd probably be faddy about that too ;)

(This from the person who lines her shampoos & soaps up in a specific order! My husband says I am the ultimate "Monica" if you are a Friends fan)

My sis in law always 'quotes' this film at me about me having my tins lined up. But won't have it whhen i point out that she constantly buys stuff she doesn't need cos her tins are all over the place ::)

When I gave up work to be at home full-time (10yrs ago) I thought I would make a daily list to organize my jobs but it's all got out of control. I now have 4/5 job lists catagorised into cleaning, meals & shopping, banking/finances, church, kidz and a master-list to co-ordinate them all with an attached misc list stuck at the back. My rotas are set in stone and connot be deviated from one jot.

The other day after requesting Mrs Man and the 3 kidz didn't sit down for the rest of the day (it was 9am on Sat morning) because I had just vac'd and plumped the sofas I was accucsed of being a control freak and even a bit @nal. But I knew if I relented and let them plonk down they would leave the place looking like a war zone and even worse the cushions would be left with the zips visible.

I don't want to desend to slovenly sludgebump ways such as not buffing up the shine on my sink but if I ask my kith 'n' kin to stay outside and look through the windows am I taking it all a step too far?

Taking it to far Man_bout_the_house? Never........in fact, if I wasn't already married I'd ask you to marry me :D!!

(Assuming you feel the same as me about uncurling tangled phone cables & & lining up the icons symmetrically on your PC screen, of course)
