Is it just me? After being a full-time mum for 10 years I find cleaning quite an obsession, but it never looks clean and tidy. My youngest is at nursery in the mornings now and I spend the whole time cleaning, I even think I will damage my bath by cleaning it so much. I am always chucking stuff out, but unfortunately buy things too.
I have friends who rarely clean and tidy and their houses look a lot tidier than mine. Any tips, I find school holidays a nightmare as I don't have my free cleaning time.now mum of 4!!!0 -
Please please could some kind person tell me how to do quotes like Squeaky
has done ( two quotes up) I`m not very IT literate so please be gentle!0 -
I have a daily list and a weekly list, which seperates what can be done daily and weekly, then I tick which day the weekly tasks have been done so I don't end up doing 2 of 1 and non of the other. Could send you it if you like, there will be things you need to change for own household, but sets the idea out. I have found it has helped me more than I expected. I also have a TO DO list which is things to be done at some point, just completed the bathroom ones when I decorated, but enables me to prioritise what I do and when and how much time each will take. One day I might be more organised...........

See the two grey boxes at the bottom of each post. The one says 'Thanks' the other says 'quote'. Well you click the 'quote' button of the person whos post you want to quote and it will bring up a new window with the quote inside. You then are able to addy your bit to it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Routine? What's one of those?
I am a complete nightmare. Long story which goes back to 2002 and I had a duvet day...ok it was more of a duvet 4 years. I had a 5 month depression and although I am a lot better and had many ups and downs over these 4 years, it has left me with a bit of social/agoraphobia. I'm fine to a point with it, as I would rather accept the way I am than be a blubbering wreck and no use to man nor beast. I look back to when the kids were small and wonder was it really me who would have to have the coat hangers facing the same way and all match, was it really me who would have such a fab routine with kids bedtimes and meals on the table at the exact time every day and have the house spik and span by 3pm on a Friday ready for the weekend. Was THAT really ME doing it?
I do try to get back to those days but I'm just useless now.
Knowing my luck I'll finally crack it and get back on form...uh maybe when I'm 60 :rolleyes:Not in debt at the moment, but been there in the past and realise I'm the kind of person who could easily fall back into it with the self destructing spending button so making sure I keep on top of being a good girl.

Hi Moo
I would def recommend Flylady.org. Just ignore the american sugariness of it all. It's a really simple system to learn, it's realistic, and its surprisingly effective.
No more manic cleaning sessions where you try and do the whole house in half a day.0
