Hi all
I have had EWI fitted and the company have done a good job on it, very pleased.
We are having problems with the Green Deal team though regarding the home buyers bonus. We moved in to our house in October 2013 and applied for the voucher before the 12months was up so qualified for the bonus payment. All paper work including the terms and conditions for the fund supplied by the govenment stipulate that we qualify. Got an email on Friday after the claim was submitted outlining the amount we would be getting and it doesn't include the bonus. Spoke to them twice now and you only get it if you spend over £8000. The guy today admitted that it doesn't say this anywhere in the t&c's which has been an 'oversight' and our installer should have told us. Spoke to them and they now nothing of this mistical minimum spend either.
Not sure what to do at the moment as we had to borrow the deposit money from family on the condition that they would get it back when the money came through, we will now be short.
Has anyone else fell foul of this clause that isn't puplicised?0 -
The GDHIF was full of unspoken rules. Hopefully in the next version they will all be outlined.0

It's not clear, but your installer should have know really.

I have spoken to my installer and they don't know anything about this mistical minimun pend to get the home buyers bonus either. I spoke to them regarding it before going ahead with the EWI and they where of the opinion I qualified as I met the criteria of being inthe house less than 12 months.0

Re. the new tranche of green deal fund cash that is about to be released...
I have my assessment: should I get quotes now to maximise my chances of applying successfully for some of the next tranche of Green Deal cash (supposedly being made available soon)?
Or is that something you do as part of your application for the cash?
And was cash given for replacement boilers last time round - i.e., the chunk of cash that went quickly earlier this year?0 -

I'd also like to know, if someone with prior experience could help. :A
Irrespective of the Green Deal, my mum is currently getting quotes for a new boiler and double glazing, maybe some new radiators too, because the house is cold. But some government grant money would not go unappreciated, so I'm checking this thread quite often to see if anything gets announced!
My mum isn't jumping the gun, getting quotes now, is she? Presumably if we get a Green Deal inspection and they concur that we need these improvements, surely a quote from a central heating guy or whoever beforehand is just as good as afterwards?0 -
The installers have to be GD approved.0

This is where I am confused - has the new tranch of green deal cash been released yet? Is green deal open again or not?
I read this http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/utilities/2014/10/green-deal-fund-to-reopen-with-an-extra-100m but then see no follow up to say it actually opened?0 -
