The others have raised a good point, is he going to book her ticket himself or transfer her the money for it? :)

I still would advise him not to take it any further until after the webcam is set up.

One minute he's going to be picked up at the airport and welcomed into their house - the next minute her life is full of all these awful events and people. :(

He realised all by himself he shouldn't send her the money, so he is buying the ticket for her and getting it sent to her via email ... Presuming he can do this????

    Wow!
Please do not let your son transfer the money to her to pay for the ticket, he will never see her or the money again.

Do you know how old the girl is?

If this is real tell him not to pay for anything! The woman is dodgy. Mental problems, kids she doesn't want, drug dealing mother, and she's a liar!

I begged my son a couple of hours ago to invite her over to the UK, he thought it was a good idea, and thankfully she agreed with him (he is paying for her ticket) .... So, she is coming over here, what a relief!! They will both be staying in a hotel for the week near London so that they can have good days out .. DS told me she hasn't had a holiday for 10 years so she is feeling quite excited about coming over.

He was very honest with me earlier when I asked about her, and it seems she certainly has a few problems, sadly to include two boys aged 5 and 7 that she cant deal with/doesn't want anymore, an uncaring mother who deals in drugs, and a very violent father, and from the sound of it she has some fairly serious mental health issues too, but he said he really wants to help her as he likes her so very much.

Anyway, I then began to realise that I shouldn't interfere anymore, and I just said im happy for him, and that I hope they both have a lovely time.

I think she is planning to be here in about a week or so.

I work for the UK Border Agency and I won't tell you what this screams of.

Tell your son to tread VERY carefully. If I was being cynical I would say this situation screams of girl-uses-boy-for-visa, especially given that the girl in this case does not seem to be thrilled with her current life.

Sorry just to add also - I assume if she's got a 7 year old child she can't be the same age as your son?

Another point to raise, maybe they have both forgotten about it, but does she have a valid passport?

Not that many Americans actually have them, and I'm guessing if she hasn't been in holiday for 10 years, she will prob be in the majority!
May take longer than a week to sort, so don't let your son book her flight until they have all of this sorted.

I hope this all works out for your son OP
