Alitalia have cancelled my flights!

    If the airline are intransigent and insist that a refund is all you are entitled to, then you should email or write to them immediately putting them on notice that unless a re-route is offered within 7 days you reserve the right to make your own alternative flight reservation and you will expect Alitalia to pay for the difference between the cost of the original flight and the cost of the new flights you are forced to purchase.

    You can expect what you like, if the airline are intransigent then getting Alitalia to pay up could well be another headache entirely!

  • Just been back on the phone, spoke to lady who told me that I could only be offered a refund as there's no availability on any flight from Rome to Beijing. It's going to be a long day.

    Did you suggest a routing yourself, as previously adviced?
  • Yes I did and the lady responded that she still won't be able to reroute me. I told her that alitalia have flights lying from Rome to Paris and then air france fly Paris to Beijing. I also reminded her that you can fly from Rome to Amsterdam and then use KLM to get to Beijing. She stated that it would not be possible to fly me on any of these flights. I'll try to ring again in a minute.

    hi mate, what number you are using to call them? Good luck with your fight! I will have to call them later today.

    they have a lots of routes available from Rome to Beijing , and Beijing back to London on their website every day! I called and the lady said those are not in her system, she can not see any of them on her screen!!!!
  • The annoying thing is that their representatives say on Facebook that we are entitled to be rerouted, yet as soon as you get on the phone they only offer a refund.

    I have asked on Facebook for someone to give me a call yet I'm not getting anywhere. This is the number I'm using 08714 24 14 24.

    take notes of the time you called, and the name of their representative, and post the reply on their facebook, see what happens .

    i also complained to their customer relations , by email, no phone available , they replied I need to call 08714241424 and some one will help me. what the use is that?

    I just put your costly no. into St Martin's Saynoto0870 and suggest you try one of the geographics. I've often found better help available this way, than when answered by robotic humanspeak.
