  • Happy weekend everyone.

I finally got a day off!!!! So I'm home now cleaning, tidying, and finishing up all my boxes (including my swap box which is so late). I am now finally getting a chance to box up all my gifts to my friends too, so I do have a ton of GA's soon. This feels great to get a day off and get things in order. whew :)

Well done Mingle - I've got one of the large ones in coconut cream to use. How long did it last you?

I'd say about 6+ months. The pump dispenser is a nightmare. I really recommend that you decant it into something smaller if you value your sanity! I ended up using mine in the washing machine and the very last of it as toilet cleaner.

A huge thank you to my swap buddy, I had an amazing box of treats arrive yesterday, it was absolutely packed full of goodies and I can't wait to use them.

Also UU Burts Bees radiance body wash. Only a few more of these to go now but I'm going to use a few other things first so that I can enjoy it when I go back to it.

I've got quite a few splutterers so Feb should be a good month for UU

Afternoon everyone, just spent an enjoyable hour catching up on everyone's news.

    rosemary54 - have a fab holiday!

CharlotteK - glad to hear you're ok!

Have had a rubbish week - shifted to another team at work even though 2 folk had said they wanted to move, given antibiotics by my doctor, told nicely by my chiropractor that I was a wreck and, ahem, a silly driver, scraped my car in the car park when he was attempting to park his jag causing about £150 of damage to our car. :(:(:(

    Never mind, onwards and upwards!

    So UUs this week...
Head & Shoulders apple fresh shampoo sample - loved the smell of this!
Botanics normal shampoo sample - has been in the stash for years and smelt lovely, sort of like marshmallows, but it didn't lather very well. Still cleaned my hair and no irritation so far so that's all that matters.
Kiehl's midnight recovery concentrate 4ml - WNBA, it's a "dry" oil so felt I need to apply loads more than with the Trilogy stuff.

    GAs
Estee Lauder Daywear BB 5ml - free sample, WNBA, too dark for me and hated the smell (watermelon?)
Head & Shoulders apple conditioner sample - another one for my Dad since I don't use the stuff
Avon Face Perfector - I'm sure this came with a bundle of samples, I don't use this kind of stuff
Avon Matifying Foundation sample - not my shade (ivory)

Also managed to sell a couple of things on eBay - Miller Harris Figue Amere EDP (went off it) and Miller Harris Feuilles de Tabac sample.

So 9 outs this week! :j Hopefully a few more over the next week or so as I've listed a few things on eBay this weekend.

But - budge up on the naughty step please! - 6 ins :o - Tisserand Aromatherapy Energise and De-Stress Kits. Each has a bath/shower oil, rollerball and body oil and I've wanted to try these for ages!

Have a good week everyone! x
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

L'oreal Tec hairspray - HG, another in stash. I love that you can actually just brush this out really easily without needing to wash it.

This sounds good... how do you apply it?

    Lucy

i just spray it onto some cotton wool. it's brill in summer too, i have a small one for my bag to just spray on my face.
  • A few days MIA and there's ten whole pages to catch up on!! May take some time....

In the meantime, thank you all very much for your kind words and advice, so appreciate it - this week has been horrible but the meeting with freeholder went fairly well I think. I was bolstered by having spoken to a solicitor the day before who was very kind and reassured me that any external work, other than a few specifics, was not my responsibility. It soon became clear that the landlord wasn't terribly familiar with the terms of the lease and when I challenged a few points and mentioned I'd taken legal advice, he pretty much backed down :T Will await the final outcome, it was all extremely vague.

Still no central heating here but its really not too cold and if anyone needs any extra heating for a cold room etc I'd really recommend one of those oil filled radiators you plug in, I've one at the moment and its an absolute godsend and its got a timer, automatic cut off etc so fine to leave on overnight :)

I am extremely glad to almost see the back of this week - onwards and upwards!

Sorry for being so completely OT

Off to catch up and then declare the few UU I've had and the odd IN, Feb has been a very slow month so far but Jan was a good one so can't complain, plus baths at home are out at min and showers are a quick functional affair as the bathroom is a little chilly!

    Hope everyone is well xx

    A UU here,

La Roche Posay Hydreane Legere moisturiser (not too sure on the spelling but the tube isn't close to check). WBA for sure, no nasties and really calming when my skin feels irritated.
  • Forgive me forumites for I have sinned.

I have several pages to catch up on as I have been away from Friday with a hen party. Returned, luckily not hungover but very very tired.

I forgot a few things in my weekend bag and have the following INs to declare:

Charles Worthington Takeaways full volume shampoo 75ml
Charles Worthington Takeaways full volume conditioner 75ml
Smashbox photo finish foundation primer 12ml

Currently I have no OUTs to declare but have a number of splutterers.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend

That's the lovely thing about this thread, compared to so many others, you can go completely OT and all that happens is that you get extra love and support if you need it, or an intriguing discussion.. it's a very good place to be. That sounds like a positive outcome with your landlord.
So many landlords just try it on - one of the girls on the OS board had a horrendous time with hers, he was a horrible, ignorant bully.
To provide balance, my sister owns a flat that she lets, it's her only source of income outside her state pension. She had one tenant decide that deep chocolate and deepest purple was a GREAT colour scheme for the flat when they redecorated before leaving ... She was undergoing cancer treatment at the time and couldn't do much at all, so just negotiated a lower rent with the new tenant to compensate. (She has been cancer free for some time now.:) )
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
