Evening all!
Have a couple of things to report....
UU - The Body Shop Vitamin C moisturiser SPF 30 50ml. I used this up by mixing the last of it with a Stila SPF30 tinted moisturiser that was a bit too pigmented for my skin, it's perfect now! WBA as this is one of my favourite moisturisers, I have another in my stash anyway so I won't need to get any for a while.
Elemis Evening Blooms Dry Body Oil 50ml x 2 - Moved to my ebay stash. I tried but I just could NOT bear the smell, it was awful! I must have completely different nostrils to all the people who reckon it smells 'gorgeous'!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Are you on about the one you can only buy in poundland? haha!

I love this stuff! I use it as a skin refresher as my skin often goes bright red and terribly hot in dry climates i.e. too long spent in air conditioned places or where the heating is high. This stuff is lovely and makes me feel human again!CookieMonsta wrote: »I have the same problem, hun. I'm very pale and 99% of foundations just look dirty or orange on me!
How much is the Estee Lauder? I use Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish which I can get for under £15 on ebay. I also like Liz Earle skin tint if used sparingly, but know most peeps on here find it too sticky.
It's worth spending on foundation though, if you have a good one all your other make-up can be cheap and still look fab
Have either of you tried the No7 match service? They take a sample of your skin with this camera thing and it matches you to your perfect foundation, I did and it worked very well. Thanks kadison. I will invest in an eye gel I think, and will check out QVC as I never mind getting a set with extra things in tooJust been browsing the Nails Inc sets on QVC, very tempting.
If you want to kill two birds with one stone, get a set that includes the marine cream and the Absolute Eye Serum, it's brilliant stuff and one I forgot to mention before

This sounds good... how do you apply it?

UU Garnier 7 day body lotion - this was 7 sachets so I emptied them into a tub. I am impressed with this and may purchase when the body butter mountain has gone down.0

Don't think I will bother then to be honest. I get acne anyway as it is, don't want to risk it getting any worse! Do you have any anti ageing products that you have found work well?
I've been scan reading the thread over the last couple of days and know that maddiemay and another poster have mentioned Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream. I'm pretty sure I saw the other poster mention a really good price for it as well. This moisturiser is well worth the money. I'm turning 44 this week and have been using this since I was 35. I can tell the difference when I don't use it as my fine lines around my eyes do deepen. When I use it though my skin looks a lot plumper.
What skin type are you? Mine is normal/combination though it is getting a little drier. When I first started using it a 30ml pot lasted me 3 months. Now that my skn is getting drier I find a pot lasts me 2 months. Perhaps this is my wake up call to start using a serum during the day as well as at night. The serum broke me out really badly too, only took about 10 days of use to cause the problems but months to sort out. Many people do love it though.
If I apply Protect N Perfect I get a break out the next day. My skin does calm down though as soon as I stop using it. The problem is that if you get any GWP from No7 it has this product in it. The last time I used it again I foolishly thought that maybe my skin had just been reactive to it that previous time but not so. This is just not a product for me.I see many people have had break-outs, if this has happened you should return it as all No7 is supposedly hypo-allergenic!
I haven't had any problems like that but my skin has never been prone to break-outs so that might be why. No7 was the best around for a while but I think there are certainly better (and cheaper) products out there, it's all about what suits your skin, and I always found the skin creams too heavy.
I never bothered returning the Protect N Perfect as I never bought a full sized bottle of it - it was always a GWP.
I wouldn't agree with you that No 7 was the best around. At the time of the Protect N Perfect hype (and I remember seeing the queues down Market Street in Manchester!) it was revealed that Boots only tested PNP against their own brands of serum not the open market.
After trying a sample of the new B serum from Superdrug I reckon they can easily now give PNP a run for its money.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Excellent - thank you kadison that's really helpful. Do you use any eye creams or serums for anti-ageing (apart from the No7!)
Hi KT. I don't tend to use an eye cream when using PCMC as this moisturiser is light enough to be applied all over the eye area as well. It has a gel like texture.I don't really buy anything anti-ageing specifically for that really, I just think about the high SPF day creams and keep out of the sun/use a high SPF when I'm in it. The two most ageing things are the sun and smoking so avoiding those are your best bet.
I just get stuff I like the look of, hence my enormous stash lol! My fave eye stuff is this, I prefer gels as I like my eyes to feel 'cool'

I have to say I do have a Holy Grail product though, recently started using it and OMG it's worth its weight in gold! (But I did pay only about £15 for a 30ml pot) But again, I bought it because I liked the sound of a 'marine' cream as I love anything connected to the sea.
http://www.timetospa.co.uk/anti-ageing/anti-ageing-moisturisers/elemis-pro-collagen-marine-cream-50ml.aspx
Any more questions feel free, I could go on about this stuff all night lol!
Hi kadison. Glad to see you have discovered PCMC. Where did you pick up your bargain from?VALM and I are huge fans of Pro Collagen Marine Cream, you have to shop around for special offers, I could not afford it at the price quoted.
Same here. Shop around. I tend to pick mine up within kits (although now I'm careful about which kits I buy so I don't end up with a stash of other Elemis products that I don't like). A really good one to look out for is the Cancer Research kit which is released every October. This usually contains the 30ml pot of PCMC, the neck and bust cream (which is also a great product) and one other product. Last year's was the Quiet Mind Elixir. These last two products are always travel sized but the kit itself usually retails for about £29.00 so you are getting the PCMC at a bargain to begin with. The last time I was in Debenhams in the Trafford Centre they still had these kits and they were reduced again so if you have a large depatment store local to you that sells Elemis it may be worth having a look.
The other place where I buy kits from is QVC. The last kit was brilliant as it also had Gentle Rose Exfoliator in it too which I love too.
If you can hold on until 3 March there is another TSV on which allegedly has PCMC in it too.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Has anyone tried this? http://www.superdrug.com/face/superdrug-hot-cloth-cleanser-with-muslin-cloth-150ml/invt/516251/&bklist=
I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to C&P and am deciding between this one and the Vitamin E one. I have oily/combination skin.
TIA
Haven't tried that one but have tried the Vitamin E one. IMHO all the hot cloth cleansers that I have tried are nice and do the job well. From memory the ones I've tried are the Superdrug one, Weleda and S&G. However they all don't compare to C&P which stands out on it's own due to the eucalyptus in it. C&P smells divine however I stopped using it when they changed the formula and removed almond milk from it as it became less effective on my skin. At the moment I'm using the Elemis version (Pro Radiance) and whilst it's lovely it is not the old C&P that I loved. I find the Elemis one a bit too creamy as well and have to be careful how much I pump out or it can cause milia. All in all though my HG cleanser now is Elemis Balancing Lime Cleanser. I'm using the Pro Radiance as it came in the kit that I've babbled on about above.I got it as part of a set, the cream is worth around £50 alone and the set was only £40!
I found that eye creams always made my eyes puffy, since I switched to gel I've had no problems, but make sure you don't put eye cream on your eyelid as this can cause it. You want to put it under your eyes, then in the socket above your eyelid and up to your eyebrow.
QVC or timetospa often have excellent offers on if you want the marine cream and don't mind getting a set with other stuff in as well :A
Kadison, you may find over time that you don't need a separate eye cream when using the PCMC. Don't get suckered in by the Keeley sales pitch on QVC. Give it a go and see if you feel you still need an eye cream.
Are you using PCMC day and night? I don't as a) I'd find it too costly to use it at night as well and b) I use a more creamy moisturiser at night time (HG for me is Liz Earle Skin Repair).moneyless_mac wrote: »Confession time have fell for the l'occitane flash sale so will have yet more ins to declare soon.
PYNF - tonight I am sporting OPI Liquid sand stay the night. Think it would have been better with 3 coats. I have added top coat as I don't think i'm keen on the rough texture....3 coats later its still not smooth but much improved. On a positive note the way these polishes eat top coat I will have a UU soon.
Thankfully, I was not aware of the Flash Sale! I did however go to John Lewis yesterday as MrM was picking up my birthday pressie (Google Nexus Tablet - am v excited and can't wait for Thursday to have a play with it) and did buy 2 bottles of OPI. Bought a full sized Nein Nein Nein for me and a bottle of Polka.com for Emma.
I actually like the texture of Stay the Night.
Have a UU to declare re top coat. Whilst tidying up my little array of nail lacquers in the bathroom the other day I came across a bottle of OPI top coat. Thought I'd give it a go this am and see how it compares to my Essie. Opened it to find the brush had stiffened on closer look saw the bottle is empty!! This is typical Emma. Why not just throw the bottle away. She does the same with cereal boxes in the kitchen cupboard as well. Grr xBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I have an exciting freebie IN! I entered a blog giveaway and won the NAKED Basics palette! :T It arrived today and looks great.
Lovely prize Skyllo. Enjoy. xmoneyless_mac wrote: »Any recommendations for a 'tube' mascara.
I have tried the blinc and whilst I liked it found the formula a bit thin as my lashes are not great.
Mirenesse was just OK.
I think Clinique Lash Power mascara is classed as a tube one. I love this. It's my HG as I have very thin lashes. The brush is very small as well so enables me to coat them well. Sadly I don't have any of this on the go or in my stash at the mo but will repurchase when I need to.
So have now caught up with you all. Just wanted to add that I'm glad you're ok after your crash CharlotteK. And to Rosemary glad things are looking up for you and Mr Rosemary. Sounds like your little trip away with your friend will do you both the World of good. Have a lovely time. xBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. morning
CharlotteK glad you are OK after your crash
I might get round to making a list of the rest of my stash today, if I'm lucky! I started using S&G smoothie star moisturising lotion yesterday (just for defuzzing) and it smelt gorgeous like cookie dough, yum yum0 -
Its snowing here and the sky looks full of it, for once i am hoping it disappears quickly as DD is going on a school trip tomorrow on a train to York.
Charlotte - bad news about the crash but glad you are OK.

moneyless mac - what is a tube mascara?[/QUOTE]
The mascara forms tubes around the lashes rather than just coating them. They dont run with rubbing, rain, sweat etc but can be removed with water and a little pressure.
I have tried lots and lots of mascaras (usually waterproof) but I must be a secret eyelash twiddler as I always get panda eyes. My lashes are not very long although I do get them dyed I feel I need mascara - sometimes I just use the clear ones.
I tried the blinc one recently and it really doesnt run but I find the mascara a little thin and although it would be OK if you already had great lashes on mine I could use a bit more volume. No more buying toiletries0
