No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in Feb

Well seem to have developed a couple of spots in the last day or so. Not quite sure of the cause, i believe the cause could be either. 1 because I've used makeup every day this week, 2 current cleanser isn't doing a very good job, or 3 my current moisturiser is very thick and could be blocking pores, or possibly all 3 together. Fingers crossed it clears up soon.
Nails are dreadful after getting gel colours taken off, they all seem to be splitting and feel really thin. Was going to have a go at putting some colour on them but they feel really rough and I don't think it will go on very well. So will leave them alone for now.0 -
Another UU to report:
Asda Essentials Thyme and Lavender Shower Gel. WNBA, it's not great, it's cheap but not very cheerful. Have a couple of other bottles but I will use them in my swimming bag.No buying unnecessary toiletries 2013: Start 112 items 01/01/13

Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation, naughty me but for full coverage there is no cheap alternative I know of. I'm very pale which makes foundation buying particularly difficult for me.0 -

Rosemary, I love Murano - style glass, real Murano is so horrendously expensive and it's almost impossible to tell the difference.
A few years ago Primarni had lovely heart-shaped Murano style pendants for a couple of quid in half a dozen colours, I bought two (green and white) and wish I'd bought the lot, as I've had so many compliments on both.
I wear them with good quality silver chains and they really don't look cheap. I have some nice earrings to match, so can picture your Murano heart shapes - lovely.
Back on topic, a UU - 200 ml of Bodylisshus shea-fragranced body butter. This was passed on to me as unloved by a friend.
WIB? Not as body butter, but it made a decent foot cream. It was completely synthetic, just smelled vaguely of shea, which doesn't smell of much.
I went to use the pure lanolin n. cream as heel cream earlier. My bedroom is quite cool - would rather put on extra covers /clothes than the heating and I had hell's own job to get any out of the tube.
On feeling the distinctively sticky texture, I instantly recalled using it as nipple cream for feeding DD and DS - had completely forgotten that I ever had, but that gumminess was so evocative. It took quite a bit of rubbing in and I had really sticky fingers afterwards too. Hope it works after all that messing about!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I have the same problem, hun. I'm very pale and 99% of foundations just look dirty or orange on me!
How much is the Estee Lauder? I use Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish which I can get for under £15 on ebay. I also like Liz Earle skin tint if used sparingly, but know most peeps on here find it too sticky.
It's worth spending on foundation though, if you have a good one all your other make-up can be cheap and still look fabDecluttering 2015: 2162/20150 -
Finally found time to have a play with my Urban Decay palettes, I tried the Glinda look on one eye and the Theodora look on the other, think I may have done something wrong with the Glinda look as even though DH loved the Theodora one (which doesn't use either the lovely Greens or the gold/black by the way) he said the Glinda one made me look like I had Conjuctivitis. Think I must have used too much pink/purple under the eye? It has also made me realise how rubbish I am at applying eyeliner and really need a good practice (mind you by my ages I should be a lot better at applying make up than I am). I also need to invest in some better eye makeup brushes.0

I got it as part of a set, the cream is worth around £50 alone and the set was only £40!
I found that eye creams always made my eyes puffy, since I switched to gel I've had no problems, but make sure you don't put eye cream on your eyelid as this can cause it. You want to put it under your eyes, then in the socket above your eyelid and up to your eyebrow.
QVC or timetospa often have excellent offers on if you want the marine cream and don't mind getting a set with other stuff in as well :A
Thanks kadison. I will invest in an eye gel I think, and will check out QVC as I never mind getting a set with extra things in tooJust been browsing the Nails Inc sets on QVC, very tempting.

I found getting some decent brushes made a massive difference to my makeup skills. I bought Real Techniques ones and some Stila ones too. Also check out Lisa Eldridge on youtube she has loads of tutorials and you can search her channel for the look you want.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I really love her website, I've watched a couple of her videos, but really need to watch and do at the same time I think going to see if she has one on eyeliner. Have you watched the favourite brushes video, the powder brush was lovely but so expensive. That's a few recommendations for the real techniques brushes now will have a close look at them next time I'm in boots. Don't think by brushes apply the colour well iykwim.0
