Yes - all the answers are there, including the one that says

IF YOUR FLIGHT WAS OVER SIX YEARS AGO YOU ARE OUT OF TIME TO START LEGAL PROCEEDINGS, AND THEREFORE THE AIRLINE WILL SAFELY IGNORE YOU.

    Thank you for listening.;)

That's putting aside the bit that says:

    AIRLINE BUST = NO CLAIM

My son was recently denied boarding on an Emirates' flights because the information displayed on his ticket prevented him from travelling (even though the ticket was issued in accordance with Emirates policy). I have complained because I had to take extra time off wok in order to take him to the airport a second time for a re-arranged flight the next day.

Emirates' have now replied that their policy is not accept any liability for loss of business, earnings and any associated costs, but they would reimburse me out of pocket expenses. Should I be content with this, or can I be compensated for having to miss a day of work?

Were you actually a passenger? it sounds not so you would not have any claim
Your son may have a claim for denied boarding but more information would be needed on the reason behind their refusal to carry him
" the information displayed on his ticket prevented him from travelling"?

Hi Caz3121. My son (9 years old) was to travel as an unaccompanied minor. In line with Emirates' rules this meant that he had to pay a full adult fare. The full adult fare was paid, but because he is a child his ticket was marked child. The travel agent checked in advance whether this was the correct procedure and was assured that it was. But on the day the check in staff denied him boarding saying they couldn't be sure he had paid the full adult fare. Emirates have accepted that it was their fault (and not the fault of the travel agent). Extract from Emirate letter reads
"Once again, we are truly sorry that the information displayed on Ryan’s ticket prevented him from travelling on 2 April and I wish to reiterate my most sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
We are in a process of rectifying this matter to avoid a recurrence of such situations in the future."

They sent us away from the airport to contact my travel agent. The travel agent negotiated with Emirates and they booked Ryan onto a flight the next day.

    Grateful for any advice.

I am not an expert but I think you would have a good case to claim denied boarding which from a compensation level would be on a par with that for a cancelled flight.
This assumes that the flight was originating in the EU. (if it had been departing from outside the EU, as Emirates is not an EU airline, EU compensation would not apply)

Denied boarding is usually caused when a flight is overbooked and your seat is given to someone else. This was not the situation in your sons case but like overbooking, the airline should take responsibility for the situation.
I don't suppose they offered any compensation in the letter?

Flight was from Gatwick to Dubai.

They offered out of pocket expenses - car parking charges and mileage to/from airport but that's all (£24). I wanted to be compensated for the fact that I had to take a day off work to take my son to the airport for a second time, but Emirates said they don't accept liability for loss of business, earnings and any associated costs.
