Stop giving banks cheap money to lend! They can get money from savers by offering decent interest rates. All the Government have done is condemn savers to laughably low rates - using public money to penalise the public. The banks then inflate their profits by lending at still quite high rates. Deplorable.0

Make mass transit as affordable as it's supposed to be.
If we're encouraged to take public transportation instead of drive to save carbon and congestion, how come the cost of Transport for London (I can't comment on other UK cities) is so extortionate?
The Tube is supposed to be easier on the environment and affordable enough for the average person to be able to get to work. Where other countries charge 1€ or $2 per ride, how can London justify £5.50?
Seems like a punishment for those who slave away at work everyday - ya know, those big tax payers!0 -
I would like to see Consent Fees abolished for owners of leasehold properties that want to conserve energy by fitting double glazed windows and doors. More flat owners would be able to afford to keep their homes up together.0
-
The Government could make massive savings by stopping paying Winter Fuel Allowance to people in care and nursing homes. They are entitled to it and automatically get it, but don't pay bills!0

Coins
Get rid of copper coins. They are worthless. Abandoning them would save metal and 'save a Mint' too. Nobody is fooled by the £1.99 tag! Credit people with a little common sense, there is still some around.
The origination of 99 pence has nothing to do with price of item, it is so change has to be given to prevent fraud by sales assistant in pocketing money instead of putting in the till. The richard montgomery matter0 -
Make SDLT fairer.
Different stamp duty brackets in London for first time buyers. 0.5% tax for every 100k spent to even the market. Double stamp duty for every subsequent property bought as those with a home already can obviously afford a higher rate.0 -
Binge drinking costs the country time and money. It wastes the resources of hard-pressed police and A&E departments. Any person who needs police or hospital attention as a result of alcohol should be fined heavily. Binge drinking and its costs would be reduced and the state would gain revenue.0

Because postal votes go out about 10 days before election day and most literature is delivered between then and polling day:
Send out stickers/signs with postal votes saying:
POSTAL VOTER – HAVE VOTED – NO MORE CANVASSERS OR LITERATURE
Might save a few trees, time, money and irritated voters!0 -
Pay child benefit for a maximum of two children, and only if resident in the UK. Too many people have more kids to earn more from the state, or we send masses of money abroad.0
-
Introduce free parking in Town centres so they can compete with retail parks, but put a 3 or 4 hour limit on to stop employees clogging up spaces.0
