  • Stop garages adding 0.9p to their fuel prices! I think most of us would agree that 139.9p / litre is as good as £1.40 where else prices goods at less than 1p?
  • All tax loopholes should be closed with immediate effect. Then set a flat rate of tax for everyone, regardless of stature, say 15% payable on all accounts, wherever they are. Make it a criminal offence not to disclose all assets. Plus make State Pension means tested.

    Government Salary Committee

MP's, Cabinet, and MEP's salaries decided and set by the people who Elected them and Not by the current system which is by an internal government select committee.

This way, not only will each MP's salary be decided fairly by those that elected them together with their expenses, but also the ability to set therefore, the National Minimum wages which will then have a Direct effect on our whole economy. Fairer wages will then be determined by this External committee, a yearly referendum can then be used to determine a set or 'range' of salaries that MP's could be paid with the Final salary then decided and voted upon by the external 'people selected salary committee'. This committee can then also be used to set a 'range' for the national minimum wage and possibly also those in other government departments as well, i.e. those that are Far too highly paid in the MOD.

For historical reason's, MP's have always set their Own salaries and their Own pay rises, and considering they have recently decided to award themselves a 32%, Yes Thirty Two Percent pay rise This year, I think it is about time WE, as the people who Elect them to Serve US, should decide what they are paid and Not leave them to decide their OWN pay packets. It is, after all the 21st century NOT the 19th century now.

We decide on where to buy other goods and services depending on the value for money we are given so why can we Not do the same with the services that are provided by those that we elect to be our servants in government?!

  • Make Tax Credit letters and awards easier to read and understand by ordinary people.
  • Disabled parking spaces in supermarkets should be enforced. Many spaces are used by drivers with big SUV's as the spaces are wider. Although physically disabled I have to walk through snow and rain while SUV drivers are parked at the door. Could there be a barrier where you need a token, obtained by showing the disabled badge in store, to exit?

I completely and totally agree with this person. Parking fines should be put in place for those who use Disabled parking OR an electronic key that only disabled drivers have that when it gets close to a disabled parking bay activates a system that then releases a barrier so as that disabled person can then park in a Free disabled parking space.

All loan companies have to give an APR, which includes interest as well as fees.
The same should be true of fees for using bank account overdrafts. They should show a typical rate on their marketing and the rate you have been charged when they inform you of a charge.

I don't think this can be shouted loud enough, Is the rest of the country deaf, dumb and blind? Stopping this will save millions.

i think the benefits system needs a massive overhaul.

it should be based on what you've put in first before you can take anything out.

you should really have contributed in taxes from your wage for at number of years before being entitled to anything back.

if you choose not to work you do not recieve anything.

such a scheme would help to sort the proffesionally unemployed and lazy who take out but contribute nothing into the system.

this would also help with migrant workers who in some cases immediately take from the welfare state before putting anything back in.

benefits should only be in place for a short term help. not a long term solution.
  • Savings gets you next to nothing. There is a housing crisis. Invest in local 'Housing bonds'. Councils can then afford to buy houses on the open market instead of building them. investors get a return on their money from the rent paid.

Abolish child benefit and increase tax credits by the equivalent amount and adjust the thresholds if necessary. Tax credits are means tested so only those who need them get them. The recent child benefit change makes no sense.
