How many times do we see the offer in all the big supermarkets, but half the time we throw so much away - If one major supermarket stopped this and lowered prices they would all follow, in the long run we would all save, and waste less.

Absolutely! No-one should earn more than twice the national average, unless they actually NEED it (and can prove it).

Give women on means tested benefits an extra allowance or coupons (like milk tokens) for sanitary towels and tampons. They can be really expensive and we get the same money to live off as men.

In many countries a council van collects household goods in your area 1 day each month for free. Householders ring up to let them know there is something outside their house, it is put out several days earlier and any passerby can take it. Often it all goes and the council does not have a waste problem.

Get rid of council tax and business rate taxes. They are killing high Street and local rate payers.
A full review of councils is required to stop them wasting our money and being so inefficient.
Perhaps a flat rate of 25% on all purchases would be a fairer system to all :eek:

One of my biggest bugbears too - poor lane discipline drives me nuts and is responsible for the vast majority of the traffic jams on motorways!

Since its dissolution in 1994 supermarkets have ravaged the dairy industry and all but destroyed the smaller farms. Even the large farms are now finding it difficult to stay afloat. Such is the power of the supermarket. A public body should oversee the selling selling of British produce (not just milk) to ensure a fair price.

Car drivers in rural areas have a double dip - they have to pay more for fuel, and they HAVE to use their cars more, because shops and other services are always a car-drive away (and there's no bus/train). Fuel should be CHEAPER here, not costlier.
