Hi
My fixed plan with e-on finishes on 1st. October and my results on the Cheap Energy Club say M&S will be cheaper. Should I start to switch now or do I need to wait until nearer the 1st. October. Thanks JackieTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Does your Eon plan have exit fees?
If it doesn't then switch now .
If it does then wait until around the 15th of the month.0 -
Thanks Keith. It's the end of the fixed period so I don't think there are any exit fees.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

Alternatively you could switch now if the savings you make offset the exit fees by an agreeable amount. What I mean is, if you have to pay exit fees but you'll save an appreciable amount by switching, then go for it.0 -
Thanks penny_pincha. I'll look into that.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

Hi imported_jac
We've a few tariffs ending on 1 October 13. Some of these had cancellation charges, some didn't. Depends on the particular tariff you're on.
However, it usually takes between 4 to 6 weeks to change supplier. Therefore, if you start the switch now, it's likely it will complete after your current plan ends.
Once you've completed the full term of a plan, you'll not receive any cancellation charges for changing supplier.
It's the date the account actually switches that's important, not the date you start the switch.
Also, once the plan ends and unless you tell us differently, your account will default to our standard tariff. These don't have cancellation charges.
Hope this helps imported_jac

Whilst this may be the norm , I did have one switch take only 21 days so I personally would not risk a switch before the 15th.......to be on the safe side !!0 -
Drat I just went to TCB to start a switch to M&S Energy and they're not offering anything now, hope they put something up soon as my bill is horrendous and even a little bit back helps.0
