I called M&S Energy to confirm.
... and could you inform us where in their terms & conditions they were able to confirm this, please?
The only caveat I see in their terms for fixed price tariffs is:
8. . We reserve the right to amend the tariffs relevant to the Fixed Price 2 tariff if there is a cost imposed by a governmental or statutory body (including a change in VAT).
Most (all?) suppliers offering fixed price tariffs include a similar caveat.0 -
M & S is coming up cheaper for me also. However, my current provider is saying I am now in debit to them to the sum of £79 and my current monthly payment (fixed until 31st October 2013) is going up by £5 a month, which I find difficult to understand as it is the summer and we have hardly used any electricity or gas. Is there an easy way to check this please? Also, I presume if I swap suppliers I will have to pay the £79 to my current provider first?0

Here's a question I hope someone can help with. One of the helpful threads says to use sites like Quidco to help get cashback etc for purchases.
I had my partner (not married) but living together for many years sign up to quidco as she purchases most of the weekly shooping.
However I pay all utility bills etc and if she goes through quidco it offers £100 cashback.
However to get that I need to sign up to M&S in my details through her quidco account so the DD come from my account.
Will this cancel out the CB offer from there, as M&S is also showing a £109 p/yr saving for us too.0 -
Why not just do a quidco account of your own, although every year I change utilities for myself and my mother and daughter all through my own quidco account.
All it involves is your name, email and password, there are no other personal details on quidco other than entering your bank account details when you want payment.
Also the bank details for recieving your cash back don't need to be the same as the bank details for any direct debit associated with your purchase.0 -

Sounds like it shouldn't be an issue then.

Hi,
M&S Fix & Save came up the cheapest for me too (£228 less a year). Energy prices fixed until Sept. 2014. However, Standing Charge is not fixed. Is it worth changing???
M&S have just come out best for me, and I was with SSE for a while without any problems. Interesting point re the standing charge - anyone know whether this could go up during the year, and whether this will still make it the best deal?0 -
Quick question for those who've switched to M&S Energy. Do they send a you text message once you've signed up to switch?
I received a text, supposedly from them. Wondering if it really is from them or if it's spammers.0 -
When I started my switch online I received several emails within the first hour but no texts !!0
