To be honest, I cannot understand what people are finding so difficult, I have one of these, I am no expert, in fact quite the opposite yet mine was up and running in around 10 mins, including a second computer using wireless.

I just followed the Set Up Wizard, then set up the wi fi .

Does anyone know if this is Vista compatible please?

I'm beginning to regret buying PC World's bargain Core Duo laptop as already struggling to install BB on it, let alone the wireless router!!!

    Thanks :)

A router / modem is not dependant on the operating system, so yes it will be compatible.

Thanks! But that's weird, cos my ISP have told me to get new drivers for my USB modem...
A USB modem would need new drivers to work on Vista, but because you are using a router it does not need it since you are only connecting the two items by a CAT 5E cable, which does not need any software to be installed onto the computer. All the software is run by the router itself so no need for the computer to do anything
A USB modem needs the software on the computer to 'work' it.

This thread is about the Talk Talk Modem/Router, not a USB Modem, different set up altogether.

I'm on AOL, and I've had no probs in setting up. Don't forget that when it asks to "username" you should put your screenname following with @aol.com not just your screen name.

I have aol via BT line. When trying to instal this router, it would not accept my aol username & password. Phoned TalkTalk helpline (appalling!) and was told that this router is not compatible with aol. Can some advise as previous threads have said that this router will work with aol. Thanks

PS When router is connected to phone socket, my house phone (digital) wont work.

Just a note about the WAG200G's from eBuyer, they now have them in stock again, BUT they've bumped the price up to £48.41, that's before delivery... I think it was £35 before p&p previously, and that was before the Google checkout discount. _pale_

For anyone who wants a WAG200G I've since found them cheaper here at Shop Magenta... not a place I've heard of before but they look legit enough.

No problems in setting up the router with the use of the USB Adaptor. However, I had great difficulty in setting up the router with out the USB adaptor, which is what I wanted as I have a Laptop with wireless facility.

Had to ring the Talk Talk support line but like the rest of the Talk Talk Organisation they took an eternity to answer and referred me on to the manufacture help line because they could not help.

The manufacturer was Philips and the help line charged £1 a minute. They reluctantly, (because I was using the router for another ISP), sorted me out in around 10 minutes.

Google checkout saving lost to Philips.

these routers have nothing to do with talk talk so any problems with them i am surprised they would help you ,unless they are you're isp
any problems with the set up should be posted on forums such as this (instead of paying massive call charges) where individuals post handy hints and like to answer questions relating to products in the threads.

    ”.

This item has nothing to do with Talk Talk, they are a surplus batch that have not been issued by Talk Talk.

There is ample free help available on the net, no need to ring Talk Talk or Philips.

I had mine up and running in ten minutes, it could not have been easier.

This item is on sale again at £24.95 for a short period.
