Can anyone answer a concern of mine please over these wireless internet connections.
I heard a radio programme the other day which said that the danger from the high frequency electromagnetic fields created by the wireless system (WLAN) is 3 times more dangerous than living next to a mobile phone mast. Is this true?
I would really like to connect and get wireless but with all these scares about mobile phones, cordless phones, microwaves etc I'm just a bit concerned about my children's health.
Any more info greatly appreciated.0 -
In over 9 months I hav'nt been able to go wireless (among other things) with Sky broadband. I have a desktop and laptop, both with wireless cards installed. Will the Talk Talk unit be compatible with the Sky netgear unit and solve my problem?0

I have a BT 2WIRE WiFi hub as part of BT Business Broadband package but have cancelled account with BT. Does anyone know if this can be used with other ISPs, ie, Tiscali? If so how do I set up, as BT installation CD links to BTbroadband as ISP? If not, I'll be getting the Talk Talk hub!
Thanks0 -

Yes, your 2wire should work OK with any ISP that uses a BT line, not cable, as will the TalkTalk one.
BTW, Tiscali is the very worst ISP in the UK, more complaints than any other ISP.0 -
I have aol via BT line. When trying to instal this router, it would not accept my aol username & password. Phoned TalkTalk helpline (appalling!) and was told that this router is not compatible with aol. Can some advise as previous threads have said that this router will work with aol. Thanks
PS When router is connected to phone socket, my house phone (digital) wont work.0 -

Couple of points, this Modem / Router is a surplus batch, nothing really to do with Talk Talk.
Have you put in your username / password exactly as it was supplied by AOL?
Are you using a filter?, if not, your phone will not work alongside a Modem / Router.0 -
Mine arrived today, I'm amazed at how easy it was to set up (10 mins and I'm an idiot!), you don't need the USB plugin in if your laptop is already WiFi.
Not too happy with City Link delivery, according to their online tracking it was due for delivery yesterday so of course I stayed in all day.
It came this morning.0 -
I don't have broadband (too far away). Can this gear be used to set up a wireless network between my desktop and my wireless-enabled laptop? If so, how?0

We took delivery of our Talk Talk wifi the other day and set up fine with our new laptop. The connection is perfect when we use the laptop in our bedroom and the wifi modem router is in our living room (which is underneath our bedroom)
However when we use the laptop in the dining room (which is linked to our living room) we get very intermittent connection which is useless.
We are not very techie minded and wondered why we cant get as good connection when we are in the dining room ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Tracey
