There is no reason why this should not work with any ADSL connection, even the dreaded Tiscali.;)

I just bought a couple of new keyboards cheaper than I've seen them elsewhere and because of the £10 discount on orders over £30 I effectively got two 1GB flash drives free. Made my day :oD

If you are on NTL ( Virgin ) Cable, this will not work, it is ADSL.

If you are on Virgin ADSL, ( using a BT Line ) you need to enter your complete NTL/ Virgin User ID, you should have that safely stored somewhere.;)

    Hello

Does anyone know if this kit will work with Virgin (NTL) as my broadband is through my TV settop box not a separate modem?

    If not, can anyone recommend?

    Thanks for any help

The answer is in the post that you quoted !!!!

If you are on Virgin Cable ..No

If you are on Virgin via a BT line Yes.

I suspect that you are on Virgin Cable so this item will not work for you.

You need a Modem / Router specific for Cable.

    These are widely available.

Thanks very much for the reply.

I'm not sure what ASDL means so my query was really whether it was different if you have the broadband thru the TV set top box as opposed to a separate modem. I see from your reply that it makes no difference! It's still all foreign to me but now I won't waste my money on a useless wireless kit! Thanks!

    Can anyone help please?

    Hi Barginhunter,

It looks like you were having the same problems as me. I solved my difficulties by ringing the free phone helpline on the box. Technically speaking talk talk do not provide support for this product unless you are a customer of their broadband, but you do not have to declare that. They even ask for my phone number which I gave and they still helped me.

The helpline appears to be South African based, (judging by the accent). My first phone call the operator was unhelpful and referred me on to the manufacture which was Philips, you have to ask for the number. The number given was a premium (0901) rate number at a pound a minute. So be careful if you use this number. However, I later found that if you go on Say No to 0870 website they offer a cheaper alternative of ringing a London based Number, (I have not tried this number to see whether they would help.).

I later had another difficulty and telephoned the Talk Talk free phone helpline and the lady was only too happy to help. Again she asked for my number and sorted out my difficulty. If you get a unhelpful operator try again, keep trying as its pot luck. Don’t be afraid of being cheeky.

The important thing to remember is when they ask you to put in your username and password you have to put the existing one you have with you Internet Service Provider,(ISP).

Hi, I managed to set this all up easily - however, whenever I switch off my PC and switch on again, the router says everything is ok and connected yet I can't load IE or Firefox, just says can't find server. If I uninstall and re-install then it works fine again.
I called TalkTalk who told me to get the manufacturer number from E-buyer who don't answer e-mails or phone calls.
Can someone either advise what the problem might be or supply me with the Phillips helpline number? I notice that a couple of you have this number but haven't posted it.
Many thanks - any advice would be welcome. My hubby seems to think I'm a tech wizard and gets very frustrated when I can't fix the internet!!!
    Cheers
if i had known then what i know now
