Marginally? Brown considered himslf so adept at running the UK economy thought he would get Managing Director at IMF position. !!!!!!!!!!
Even Ed Milliband supported his application.

.... and Osborne said he'd cut the deficit by half way through his first term... not much quality there either!0

...so what does that say about Osborne's performance?:rotfl:Thrugelmir wrote: »Marginally? Brown considered himslf so adept at running the UK economy thought he would get Managing Director at IMF position. !!!!!!!!!!

I said marginal because the electorate in its infinite lack of wisdom saw fit not to give Cameron a clear majority. For me it was certainly no-contest.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

Hell of course it isn't BUT what better alternative is there? I accept that it is imperfect. Which country are you going to go to in order to get away from the feeling you are not being represented by the best of the best?Being offered a choice three more or less identical clones, parachuted into a gerrymandered constituency by their party offices, who then proceed to lie about their intentions, is not a democracy. And it is even less of one when they can, between them, scramble together a fraction of the potential votes.
They may have told you it is one and you may have believed them. But it is not.0 -

Too many people benefited from Browns welfare credit system.
What matters to most people is their own finances not the UKs as a whole.0 -

I am sure they have their own problems but at least Australia's PM and partner are amusing.:D"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Another rocketing price hike next month (£1.42 by Easter say papers) This really will be the final straw that breaks the camels back for most of us! One neighbour is giving up her kids childcare and her job! (Cheaper to lose her income by staying home, interacting with kids herself, shop locally and save petrol!) Another friends hubby has decided to stay overnight one night on Weds midweek to save at least one 80 mile motorway round trip. Social media is full of furious posters! As for our family, theres just nothing left to cut, we stopped using the car for non essential trips months ago.0

I wouldn't wish Gillard on anyone. She's dreadful.
She's so bad that people are even prepared to vote for Abbot to get rid of her and he brings to mind the abuse given to Tuffers over here: "Lend me your brain, I'm building an idiot"!
Actually that's a bit harsh. He does a lot of excellent work with the Rural Fire Service, it's just that he's such a dreadful opportunist and he makes Cameron sound like Churchill. I don't like the way that he cozies up to the intolerant AH wing of the Liberal Party. I'm hopeful that we'll end up with Joe Hockey, I think he's excellent. I've met him a couple of times and he's what Maggie would have called 'sound'. He's on the right economically but combines it with very liberal views on society and individual rights.0
