They do go mouldy, but you will be able to tell if it is.Peel it and if the flesh is still yellow and tasty it's fine. The flesh goes brown when they're off.HTH

I bought a massive and I mean massive Pineapple (well the biggest one I`ve seen)for 64p out of Lidl yesterday and now I`m sat wondering what the heck I should do with it?

It`s far too big just to slice up and eat it.

I need some idea`s what I can use it for.

A quarter of it will be sliced up and fed to the kids, but I`m looking for insperation(spellings?)

I will cut the leafy part off and leave on a small plate with some water to see if it will root and I can get a plant out of it.

I have loads of baking stuff in the cupboard and fresh double cream.

    Any help would be greatful.

  • OMG THATS HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could make an upside down cake (ithink), or have it cooked with some gammon.

Of you have a juicer, yu could juice it.

Or if you know someone who has gone over their due date and is waiting for their babalie to appear you could donate it to them - apparently it brings on labour! However when I was 10 days over I ate TWO pineapples because I was so desperate and all that happened was I had a very stingy face from all the juice and no baby! :D

Sorry not very helpful but was all I could think of :D

Dont know anyone who is pregnant.

I also tried that when I was over due but nowt happened, just loads of heartburn and a funny feeling on me teeth.

Perhaps I could hide behind a letter box and throw it at a pregnant woman and the shock of a big pineapple whizzing past her head could start her off into labour. Of course I wouldn`t actually hit with it as I`m not a good aim,but she could feel the wind off it as it whizzed by!

But this looks like quite a robust pineapple and would probably not even have a scratch on it and I`d be still sat here wondering what to do with it?
