Hi everyone! I've barely logged on this week, but have now caught up with all the posts. I'm very impressed with the progress that we're all making!
So far I'm on 21/27 AFD. Have been eating quite badly this week and as a result my weight has barely shifted since 1 Feb. Looking at my finances in detail this morning wasn't quite as bad as a I'd feared (the debt is moving in the right direction).
I make that about 4kg which is about 2lbs weightloss a week in old money. Don't scoff at that!:T
ETA: In fact, just don't scoff!:rotfl:0 -
Hi everyone, hope we are all feeling good! I'm posting early as I am sure it's going to be an AF night. Why I hear you ask?
a) don't usually drink on a Saturday since starting the SNC helped me to cut down during the weekdays so if I failed on Thursday the dreaded Thursday night lol, I would then not drink all weekend. However, this had the added benefit of that now I can hopefully resist the Thursday drink I don't want a drink on the weekend.
b) Feel bloated with food and liquids not booze.
c) Still got a cold.
This could all change lol. But for the time being I don't feel like a drink.
So 22 AF days out of 27, thanks Shaggy.

23/24 AFDs in Febrewery and 54 in total.
Had a good 5k run this morning, and there were crocus getting ready to open their faces to the sun which weren't there 2 weeks ago (last week's run was cancelled due to flooding).
I was glad there was no wine in the house tonight, or I'd have been sorely tempted! Made scrumptious garlic mushrooms as a side dish for dinner, so there's no danger of vampires tonight, lol. Sliced chestnut mushrooms, a knob of butter, a piece of frozen ginger and a sprinkling of coriander/black onion/mustard seeds. Fried for 5 minutes, then added about 2 tablespoons of water and simmered for 5 minutes, then thickened the liquid with sauce flour. Delicious. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
I'm just back from a very very boozy holiday! Gee, we all drank way too much, I had just 1 AF night so my result for February will be pathetic.
Anyway, I'll make sure that the last few days of February are Sober.Trying to keep in budget.

Morning :hello:
A Saturday AFD - went to the cinema to see Lincoln - I did hear a few bells when I got home as OH was drinking some red wine but resisted - need to keep a totally clear head for work at the moment.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
We went to see it last night and were left feeling a bit disappointed in the film, i think we were expecting more from Spielberg as the director however we thought DDLewis was his usual fantastic self. He is one of my fav actors of all time. Let me know what you think
I thought it was really great - but I love history and politics - don't think it would be everyone's favorite movie. Tommy Lee Jones was brilliant too! Thought Lincoln's youngest son was the weakest link...What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Hi 41,
I joined this thread because I was drinking everydayish - not a lot, but 2 or 3 glasses of wine in the evening after work. Probably about 20ish units a week instead of the recommended 14 or less. I just wanted to cut that down to less nights a week and be drinking the government recommended 14 units or less. I found this thread really helped me (plus I keep a spreadsheet of my units too).
As the years have gone by I've learned lots of tricks to reduce my alcohol consumption - make sure I have plenty of hot chocolate in, always start as late as possible, always have water on the table when eating out, alternate water with wine, etc.
As lots of posters say - I enjoy AFDs these days. I like not drinking. But I enjoy having a drinking day too.
And I love this thread. It really helps me keep my drinking in check. What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again.
