Everyone Welcome!
Please highlight your AFDs in Red
Don't hesitate to let me know if I've got your AFDs wrong!!!!!What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

I have a planned drink day tomorrow as husband and I are having steak at home, celebrating a little anniversary. We have a lovely bottle of wine waiting. I have been thinking it through, and have decided we will share the bottle and then I will move on to tea or soft drink.
This is a big step compared to what I would have done in the past, i.e. large gin and tonic (or two) beforehand, or even half a bottle of prosecco, then share bottle of wine with dinner, then share another bottle of wine after dinner, and possibly a port later on!
Progress in small steps......Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

Thank you guys! I got through it by eating a ton of biscuits and drinking tea with a few tears. I tend to drink when I am bored/frustrated or trying to avoid something. Obviously adding alcohol into that cocktail of emotions is not pretty so I am very glad I went without. Now I need to tackle some carp....0

Hey well done!! You did it!

Congratulations on getting through yesterday. :TSick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

Loving the posts, loving the posts. What a great forum to be part of, we are all pulling together, going in different directions but ultimately in search of the same goal. Well done, I am so happy to hear progress and happiness. My uncle had the post-mortem and they dont know how he died, so he will be cremated and in about 4-6 weeks time they will have the results of some blood test to confirm it I hope. My auntie has cancer again, but they don't know if it is from the original breast cancer or a different cancer, and my dads cousin who had a double mastectomy has just found out she is terminal after years and years in remission. All this bad news is making me more determined to LIVE and enjoy my life. In times of adversity we meet our true selves, the self that survived when others would not. I know there is a link with breast cancer and alcohol and my gran has a daughter and niece with it so I think by giving up I am supporting their fight against cancer. Maybe I'm wrong but anything that puts alcohol in a negative light in my thinking is a good thing, I don't want to remember alcohol as a feel-good drug, and something that I have good experiences with. Have a good day everyone, try and live in the moment.

Couldnt agree more. I've been to a funeral in the past few days of someone my age who died of alcoholism basically. What a tragic waste. I want to really live life and enjoy it (and remember it!!). Let's do our best to stay healthy and well!!Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

Hi all,
21 AFD for me please Shaggy.
I can't believe we are nearing the end of February already.
Happy Friday everyone :j0 -
Yep this is the shortest month of the year, I've been busy sorting out mess and cleaning. Guess what I want as a reward, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning and the regret and the hangover and trying to convince myself that it's a bad idea. I know it's a bad idea, I hope I can abstain tonight, so much is going on in my personal life. I really want to abstain, not drink since Valentine's night, can't believe I didn't drink last night on a Thursday but OH was home for a change.
