  • mrs dee well done love. chloris i know what you mean i fancied a drink about an hour ago, just....because....lol. I feel good too, but still want a drink, know if I do i will regret and I always wake up feeling shut. So no point then, but it helps to talk about it. Not easy to give up drink, but at times it feels a little easier, hopefully the times its easier will increase.
    20 AF days and 4/4 SNC, mackeroo we are all grateful and if you want to pass the baton so to speak no-one will mind, we are just grateful for the wonderful job you have done, no need to worry about it honestly. I think it is good sometimes to have change so whether someone continues the snc or renames it or whatever I don't mind, as long as we all share our experience thats what matters, thankyou so much mackeroo for your dedication and above all honesty, as you recognise that your time is being engulfed by the SNC scoring, I couldn't manage it and that's why I'm not offering lol. Honesty is worth more to me than thinking of someone being burdened and not having an equal time to share on this thread. Please don't worry mackeroo, I think you're ace.

    hey Chloris, I too know what you mean by that. Do you have a diversion tactic that works for you?
    I have got a few now for the after dinner gap :

    take dog for walk;
    immediately clear table, do washing up, prepare lunch to take to work for tomorrow;
    make a hot drink;
    read a book;
    do ironing (only if totally desperate - lol!)
    watch something great on television but with a soft/hot drink to hand

    ggod luck. as you say it's just a matter of getting through next few hours and then you've got through another day and will thank yourself in the morning...

    21/24 AFDs for Febrewery, and 52 in total.

    There was a bit of drama with my granddaughter on Tuesday evening, she got a fishbone stuck in her throat and had to go to the children's hospital. The docs couldn't get it out so made an appt for her to return the next morning and have it done under local anaesthetic. Fortunately it dislodged when she ate some bread that night.

    I told her dad (my DS) that I had a similar experience when I was about the same age (DG is 8).

    When I was telling my mum tonight, she was amazed I remembered the incident so well, as apparently I was only 5. Mum told me she was very panicky because my little sister was only 2 weeks old at the time. I don't remember that bit (me, me me, lol). It put me off fish until I was an adult.

    Chloris, I hope you got through the danger period? A hot drink helps me. I've drunk more tea than usual - chamomile is good, and even hot chocolate. Hot blackcurrant juice is also tasty.
    What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Have been doing a lot better! Had a few martini cocktails last night as 8 year anniversary but didn't continue on with more cocktails then wine too which would have been the norm. Prior to that had had 3 more AF nights taking me to 5 AF for the month so far!

    Good Luck everyone!

    What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
