Most places do Becks Blue now because all the other alcohol free beers are recognised as disgusting! :D

Have a look on here for home use drinks, the lady on the phone is really friendly and knowledgable.

    :hello:
My first planned AFD is Monday but I'm thinking about trying for a sneaky Saturday today too. I will go back to bed and sleep now. I have a cough which isn't helping my sleep any.

Realistically that's going to b me too. Good luck if you try it tonight.:)

I am off out for a meal and drinks with friends tonight. Does anyone have any recommendations for AF drinks that are a bit more grown up than coke and lemonade?

I'm not a beer drinker and I find most soft drinks far too sweet. When I'm in a pub/restaurant and not drinking I either have fizzy water or just plain tap! Good for the skin and makes me feel very virtuous.:D
  • I think I might start buying the odd carton of tomato juice and a bottle of worcesestershire sauce. There's lots of veggie juices in the supermarket now so you get a bit of nutrition too.

Do bar keeps know how to whip up a Virgin Mary these days do you think.

I once saw someone order a shandy made with alcohol free beer. I didn't quite understand that.
  • Before I stock up on Erdinger, which I've tried and quite like, I notice it's 0.5%. Does that still count as AF for the purposes of 31 days in January?
    Cheers. I mean thank you.

Most "alcohol free" drinks have a small level of alcohol in them. At 0.5% you'd have to drink 10 bottles to take in the same amount of alcohol as a single 5% bottle.

Also, lots of normal foods and drinks have some naturally occurring alcohol so it is practically impossible to be totally alcohol free.

It's really up to you and your reasons for going AF.

    Good afternoon everyone

I am pleased and proud to report an AF night last night. I will not prompt fate by declaring tonight yet. I will leave that until tomorrow morning. :j

Ive had a dodgy couple of nights sleep physically, but emotionally I feel so much stronger. I know that it wont be until day 7 or 8 that I will start to feel the real affects of being AF, but its so good to know that this is ahead.

My goal for next week is to get back to running and the gym. It will be a revelation to be training and not drinking - hopefully my times and energy will improve.

Again, thanks for the support from this thread.

I hope we all are able to stay AF tonight.

Shaggy please put me down for 3/31
